We had our first kid when I was 40, second when I was 44. I’m now 46, and our third is due next month. There’s something nice about raising kids when you’re at a time in life when your career is established, you’re not hustling to get by, and you have much more control over your time.

I just realised nobody expects an attack to Iran today, not even me because of the scheduled meeting between Trump and Xi this week. However, I suddenly thought that’s exactly why it might be the best moment to leverage an element of surprise and if successful will give Trump a lot of leverage to pressure China to force Iran to agree to Trumps requests in 3 days and finally snap a peace deal. In this scenario the market turmoil might be limited (assuming the attack this time is well planned and swift to avoid any asymmetrical retaliation by Iran)

A video posted by Iranian media outlet PressTV earlier today shows the U.S. Navy Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Frank E. Petersen Jr. (DDG-121) along with audio of the Iranian "Sepah" Navy ordering it to turn back towards the Gulf of Oman. Warship 121 then announces that it is conducting a transit in accordance with international law. As the video comes to an end, the Iranian voice is heard warning all vessels in the Gulf of Oman to stay 10 miles away from any naval vessel "because I am ready to open fire on them." It is unclear if this is from a previously reported engagement. U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has not issued a statement regarding this incident. It's important to note that PressTV is a state-owned/controlled entity.
