This would be funny if people didnt understand the context behind this. Saiyan Saga- Gohan getting mad and unleashing his hidden power is a setup to an important payoff we dont see until far later in the series- the setups being his emotional trigger and his untapped power he needs to train to fully unleash. Even when he unleashed it against Raditz, it only allowed him to temporarily surpass his father in strength, but not skill, technique, control, or any of the other important fundamentals. He didn't even beat Raditz, Nappa or Vegeta- he straight up got folded by each of them consistently, and victory over those three required clumsy teamwork and sacrifice from each of the prominent characters. Cell Saga - by this time, Gohan has trained harder than most other characters and was determined to fight alongside his friends on the frontlines. He even trained in the most inhospitable dimension ever to achieve both Super Saiyan and later Super Saiyan 2 after leaving the HBTT. Its interesting you choose to omit this period, because this is legitimately where all his years of struggle and training eventually led to the payoff established at the start of the series, where Gohan has trained, gained techniques, experience, and control for most of his power equal to and better than his father. Even so, it is revealed through his Super Saiyan 2 form he needs more training and discipline, which the author would logically and skillfully and competently follow up with and allow him to grow organically in the next arc... Buu Saga- That is only IF Akira was a good writer that could continue a character's growth beyond their gimmick. Instead he dropped the ball and the Buu Saga was a shitshow for everyone, including Gohan. Gohan still trained with the Z Sword to catch up, sure, but it was a quick, clumsy rehash of his Cell Saga arc, but without the proper build up or payoff. Super Hero- had the show focused more on growing Gohan and the other characters organically we wouldnt be having this discussion, but Super and by extension Super Hero was sludge writing from start to finish that only wanked off Goku and Vegeta the entire time, and fast forwarded everyone else as after thoughts.

Cell is top tier. Not only is his intro solid, but we get ALL the info about his backstory, origins and lore drip fed across the rest of the arc. Whereas Frieza, the so-called best villain of DBZ, to this day, we have no idea WHERE he came from, what his home planet is called, how old he is exactly, how he came up with his plethora of transformations, attacks, fighting skills and understanding of using ki without a single day of training and how he conceptualized any of that BS into reality, how many of his kind there are, whether he and his father are the only anomallies ever born, whether his kind are as strong as him or if he is the only one, if he has a mother, children or other siblings in the series canon we know, what exactly he does as a leader and what tasks he does running a planet trade organisation... we know next to nothing about the guy to add any context or reasoning or understanding to him beyond his position as a evil, galactic tyrant.

Cell was the best introduction. It was done like a horror film. It was also eerie that Bulma, Gohan, and Future Trunks discovered another Capsule Corp time machine that is the exact model as Future Trunks. They find a larva form shell that was once Cell and then the narrative makes you forget about it. The entire time the focus was on the androids and out of nowhere whole towns and cities became void of human life. The sequence forced viewers to create an image in their head of what it could possibly be and once the reveal happens. You see this fucking ugly looking creature, you're not sure if he's strong or something the Z fighters can take out without a problem. The whole setup for Cell was executed perfectly.

Between these five antagonists, who had the best introduction? 👀🔥

LOTS of light infantry. 300,000 in the initial wave. The Chinese knew exactly how to take on an invading, mechanized force after experience against the Japanese and in the civil war. When you throw hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of soldiers into close combat, AT NIGHT, from the mountains, against a smaller force that is over stretched and can't use its artillery or air force, and has its supply lines attacked and roads sabotaged, it's gonna be very effective.

@FictionWrite @BRyvkin It’s also notoriously difficult to launch a night attack especially when night vision wasn’t even invented yet Korea was probably one of the handful of times a completely mechanized combined arms force was completely routed by light infantry

As I’ve noted many times, the downplaying of the Korean War as a forgotten war increasingly feels like a deliberate attempt to bury this important western victory in the Cold War. America and its allies in UN Command saved half of Korea from Stalinism and came close to bestowing western freedom (maybe not at once, but eventual) on the entire peninsula. 52 million South Koreans live in a free, wealthy, and western democratic society with a thriving economy thanks to their and our sacrifices in this war.
The Forgotten War@ForgottenWarPic

The Korean War does not nearly enough attention that it deserves. The US and it's allies successfully defended South Korea's independence from North Korea and China and halted the spread of communism on the Korean peninsula.

@Mind_of_yakub @BRyvkin Yeah because China covertly infiltrated their forces across the river, used THE MOUNTAINS in the area as well to conceal themselves and attack from, then threw the kitchen sink at UN forces- with regular night battles, which are notoriously difficult to fight off.

@FictionWrite @BRyvkin Iraq predictably ran into the Zagros mountains were armor meant nothing US forces were literally in sight of the Yalu river before the Chinese came over. They couldn’t even hold a natural defensive position

@Mind_of_yakub @BRyvkin When you throw 2.9 million soldiers into the fray, almost double the enemy, yeah, its gonna do something. A similar thing happened when Iran threw bodies at Iraq when they invaded.
