"Diversity" is not even a real value. It is a completely made-up pseudo-value that radical leftists have instrumentalized to attack Western culture. The foremost issue with artificial "diversity" is that it contrives an "oppressed vs. oppressor" narrative by implication and sows it into works where it is foreign. Secondly, this fetishizing of "diversity" does not extend to individuals. There are few sympathetic conservatives or villainous radicals. This reeks of political motive and it is obviously by design. Critically, there is a lack of ideological diversity. Stories that do not surrender to DEI and other leftist tropes are explicitly cut out of Hollywood awards. This is obviously driven by a push for ideological conformity, not diversity. Additionally, the supposed fascination with "diversity" does not extend to European subcultures or Christian schools of thought. Notice how Hollywood doesn't recognize the "diversity" of Europeans? Are the Orthodox Greeks the same as the Catholic Italians? Are the Jesuit French the same as the Lutheran Germans? No, but this kind of diversity is not relevant to radicals who are simply weaponizing the pseudo-value of diversity to attack Western culture. So, critically speaking, the artificial "diversity" introduced by Woke Hollywood corrupts the natural diversity inherent in classic literature, and obscures it, thereby damaging these texts' ability to illuminate the human condition.

The woke scolds are absolutely terrified. If The Odyssey bombs because of woke casting…. if Christopher fucking Nolan, the most bankable director in Hollywood - a guy who made a billion dollars from a biopic that was mostly a court procedural - can’t get away with it anymore, then no one can. A public catastrophe of this scale crushes them politically, because at the end of the day, culture is driven by money. Sports Illustrated and Victoria’s Secret casted fat, bald models until it became clear that they had destroyed their profitability and brand cachet doing so. Then they came to their senses. If Christopher Nolan can’t get away with woke, anti-white male casting - it will be a sea change. Wokeness will become cancer to profitability. And every one of their unpopular, deranged causes will be dropped like a deformed Spartan baby into the Aegean. The message will be sent. It will be like Charles Martel defeating the Umayyad invasion of Aquitaine at the Battle of Tours. Woke stops here. The Odyssey must fail. Humiliatingly, catastrophically so. Their spirits must be crushed. The only thing anyone must remember about this epic boondoggle is Elliot Page and Lupita Nyongo being epically miscast, and everyone losing a fuckton of money as a result. If even Chris Nolan can’t rescue woke, every woke opinion leader is out on their ass. And we will be, like Christianity in a Caliphate-besieged Europe in 732, so back.

With that said, I do think an argument *could be made* that it smuggles in your conclusions, thus making it circular. But I set that aside and still refuted the argument at face value. Circular or not it is still clearly unsound.
