Of these I like @MetaDAOProject the best. Rather than simply creating synthetic equity, they're looking to solve the alignment problem (aka principal agent problem) between teams and shareholders. However, I see a few issues too; 1) they are limited to Web3 projects 2) founders prefer to control their cap table and significant investment decisions. I understand that the prediction markets model may theoretically produce better decisions. But most great business decisions are driven by the founder's unique insight and conviction (e.g. FB acquiring Instagram) Curious to know whether @metaproph3t has addressed points

The vision that @solana has for ICM is great. But how exactly will the current crop of ICM players enable us to invest in a neighbourhood business by scanning a QR code? Current efforts look 1) scammy (e.g. @believeapp shills memecoins in a suit) 2) regulatory grey (e.g. @ReservedPlace setting up off-shore foundations that own equity and issue tokens against these holdings) 3) too complicated for retail, too small/esoteric for institutions (e.g. @MetaDAOProject marrying futarchy with capital markets

Probably dumb questions, but appreciate if you can clarify 1. do you guys launch a dedicated new token for each new project? Going by $OMFG I take this as a yes. 2. can the token price for a project move unrelated to a proposal? Wouldn't this distort the prediction market 3. if trades made in a conditional token market are erased when it fails, what's the disincentive to bet on the losing side of such a market?

@ReservedPlace Great pitch. Can you share more details on how this will be done? So far ICM has turned out to be largely meme coins not tied to anything.

@toly Share price is tied to company profit, which is in turn tied to operations. Minority shareholders cannot police company insiders - classic principal agent problem. So regulators will always have a role within this structure. We have a solution if you're interested

Public markets should be the best markets. But they are not. Companies are staying private longer and longer just to avoid the bureaucracy.

@lbexplorer Agreed. But tokenizing traditional equity isn't going to get us there. The majority of @solana's ICM push is focused on that (bringing NASDAQ on-chain). We need a crypto native alternative to equity

Tokens will soon become the new form of equity. We are in the infant stages of this transition, but the wheels are already in motion. Capital will naturally find its way to the most frictionless ecosystem. Tokenization of memes was just the beginning. Tokenizing start-ups, individuals, and established businesses is the future. The future is on-chain.
