Russell here. At 8:00 p.m. I will make the post tonight that was the first post Robert ever made about Joan. It would be perfect to put that up tonight before the book goes on sale at midnight. Incidentally Brenda made a post a while ago requesting some help and we did receive it and we thank you now. Please keep in mind that when the book goes on sale tonight at midnight Eastern standard Time however if you live for example in California like Colleen @ColleenZickgraf or Nancy @nancyjane74 in Washington you don't have to wait till midnight because it will be available your time at 9:00. Cindy @peacejoylovePJL in Texas along with Maryann @maryannwrites and Marsha @FieryDeltaTexan in Texas also at 11:00. Rose in Chicago 10:00 Rosemary @RosemaryPStagg in Calgary 9:00. Tammy @@justme in Indiana 11:00. Anne @AnnieOakley2015 in Colorado 10:00 and Bobbi @bmikiel2 also in Colorado. Robert is so much better than me at remembering where you all live. That's because he always threatens to hunt you down if he doesn't get his way. Haha

He was previously deemed ineligible because although he was sick and I'm not talking about his recent surgeries according to the assessment he was still able to prepare his own food. And what we need right now after Brenda and I are gone is for the church kids to be able to come into his apartment and serve as he absolutely cannot get up and walk. And he can buzz people into his apartment so they do not need a key.

Brenda here. Update. Robert continues to sleep. When he does wake up he is aware of who I am and that I am here whereas yesterday he did not have a clue. I met with a senior advocate today and I am amazed at the information I have been given about how to prepare Robert for when he comes home because when he had his initial surgery in Boston and came home it was a different story and we were not given these precautions when he stayed with us. I have discussed this with Russell on the telephone earlier. Robert has a carpeted bedroom and living room which is fine but he also has two area rugs and they have to be temporarily removed for at least the following months because this could easily cause a trip. He also has a chair in his living room that is a swivel chair. It has to go. He has to have a chair that is steady and although the chair is in good condition it would be a hazard so we are going to put it in storage somewhere and I'm speaking to the apartment manager to see if they can find a place because his apartment does not have that. Russell and I are buying him a new chair for his birthday. We need help not with that because that is going to be a gift from us but there are other needs that we have been informed of such as we need to get a raised toilet seat and also a shower chair. I have been given a wealth of information that we just previously were not told. If anything at least this gives us a sense of security that finally something is being done right for when he is eventually alone. Food preparation will continue from his church youth group for the next few weeks but then once I go back to school that may become less frequent. I will be talking to the pastor who says to always let him know if we need anything and hopefully some other church members could do what the students might not be able to. However if we get enough funds we will try to have stored meal prep in the freezer of his refrigerator. For now Conservatively we need to raise $150. If what we need exceeds that we will pick up the remainder of the cost. This is where we are at presently. I believe the GoFundMe is at 9721 if we can get it to 9870 then we can stop at least for now. I am doing everything I can to try to work with whoever could offer help in terms of agencies or anything like that but these referral processes are maddening and time is not on our side because of wait times. The earliest Robert would come home would be Thursday but that is doubtful because he is not reacting well to the anesthesia. We pray more than anything that he will be home Saturday for his birthday. Russell will arrive here tomorrow night. And thank you last night for telling me I did not need to respond to every message. We try to do that because Robert taught us a long time ago if somebody can take the time to make a comment then you're sorry ass can respond to them. Those were his words to Russell never to me. If people cannot stay up late we certainly understand that. What helps a book is that Amazon is also driven by the algorithm and the more initial sales they are especially in the first couple of hours the more it remains in the algorithm however a lot of people did not know this before and most of his books were sold around 9:00 in the morning the following day and they did very well bit of people would like to help boost it tonight that would be most welcome.

@MadameGilflurt Simply astounding. The only “bad” thing I can possibly think of is that it is so unique, you wouldn’t be able to re-wear it…well, never mind. I’d re-wear it proudly and every chance I got!

In Alabama a man said "Roll Tide" to me as a greeting. Later that same day, the same man said "Roll Tide" as a goodbye. I asked a woman at the store what it means. She said, "Roll Tide." I asked what it means. She said, "It means Roll Tide, sugar." So I began collecting evidence. I kept a list. I am not embarrassed about the list. I have now heard "Roll Tide" used as: hello. Goodbye. Thank you. I am sorry. Congratulations. That is unfortunate. I agree. I disagree. And once, in a hardware store, as a complete set of instructions for installing a ceiling fan. I heard it said at a funeral. It was appropriate. It was the most appropriate thing anyone said that day. I began using it. Carefully at first, the way a man handles a borrowed sword. I said it to a cashier. She said it back. I said it to a police officer who had stopped me for a broken taillight. He looked at me for a long moment. He looked at my face. He looked at my taillight. Then he said it back, and nodded once, and did not write the ticket. I wish to be extremely clear that I am not claiming those two events are related. I am also not claiming they are unrelated. A man at a gas station heard my accent and asked where I was from. I told him Japan. He said, "Roll Tide." He meant welcome. I knew he meant welcome. There was no ambiguity at all. I have been in Alabama eleven days. I have one word. It has been enough for everything. I have started saying it in other states. It does not work in other states. I said it in a warehouse store in Oregon. One man turned around. He was from Alabama. He said it back. We did not speak after that. We did not have to. I say it anyway.
