Professor David Miller's case against @BristolUni is vital for all pro-Palestine 🇵🇸 campaigners in Britain, who face the risk of being discriminated against in their workplaces because of their anti-Zionist beliefs. This is a test case. Contribute here: fightingfund.org/supportmiller

All Filton 24 Palestine actionists have been found NOT GUILTY of aggravated burglary – a serious charge that carries life imprisonment. This makes bail applications for them likely to succeed today and over the coming days. However, the CPS has confirmed that it will now be pursuing re-trials against the 6 defendants who the court recently failed to convict, on the charges for which they were not acquitted. That means charges of criminal damage against all 6, violent disorder against 3, and GBH with intent against 1 (Sam Corner). This means that only Sam is currently facing the potential of life imprisonment out of the 24. This continued harassment shows just how much our supposed 'justice' system is captured. They kept these 6 on remand in prison for 18 months, and they had to undergo a weeks-long trial. After all that, a jury couldn't convict them. But, to please Israel, the British state is going after them again.

We live in a police state! The Metropolitan Police have arrested @doctor_rahmeh for a fourth time. This is targeted harassment and intimidation. It couldn't be any clearer. They are not just trying to silence Dr Rahmeh, but every other anti-Zionist campaigner, too.

Here are the details of my court hearing next week from the @RahmanLowe press statement: Rahman Lowe Solicitors very much look forward to defending University of Bristol’s appeal against the landmark decision of the Employment Tribunal, which was determined in our client, Professor Miller’s favour in February 2024. The Employment Appeal Tribunal (“EAT”) will hear the University of Bristol’s appeal on 12–14 November 2025 at 10am. The hearing will take place at: Employment Appeal Tribunal, Rolls Buildings, Fetter Ln, London EC4A 1NL. Last year, the Employment Tribunal found that Professor Miller had been discriminated against because of his anti-Zionist beliefs and unfairly dismissed by the University of Bristol. Importantly, the Tribunal held for the first time that anti-Zionism constitutes a philosophical belief worthy of protection under the Equality Act 2010, a historic ruling with significant implications for freedom of expression and belief in the workplace The University of Bristol appealed the decision that Professor Miller was discriminated against and unfairly dismissed. Professor Miller in turn has cross appealed challenging the Tribunal’s determinations in respect of direct discrimination, harassment and the finding of contributory fault. The EAT will now consider the matter. Rahman Lowe Solicitors and Zac Sammour of 11 KBW continue to represent Professor Miller in defending the Tribunal’s findings in their entirety. Statement from Zillur Rahman, Partner at Rahman Lowe Solicitors “This appeal has been brought by the University of Bristol following a groundbreaking judgment that recognised anti-Zionism as a protected philosophical belief under the Equality Act. The original decision was a landmark victory for equality and freedom of expression in academic and employment contexts. We will be vigorously defending that ruling before the Employment Appeal Tribunal” Statement from Professor David Miller ““The Tribunal’s judgment was clear and correct in that it confirmed that anti-Zionist beliefs deserve legal protection and that I was unfairly dismissed for holding them. The University’s appeal provides an opportunity to reaffirm those principles and to ensure that academic freedom and belief are properly upheld. There are aspects of the judgment that I do not agree with however, and we too will be challenging these as part of this appeal.”

I’m being privately prosecuted by the ‘Campaign Against Antisemitism’ under the Communications Act 2003. They say some of my posts on this platform (X) were ‘menacing’ against Jews and Zionists. I had my first hearing today and I’m currently on unconditional bail until a trial that has been given a provisional start date of 15th December. We must fight against this attempted censorship. But we need a strong legal team to do it, which unfortunately has significant costs. If you can support me, please donate here: fightingfund.org/stopthecaa

If anyone knows who this is - with the de-proscription placard (disgracefully described by the Met as suggesting ‘support’ for Hamas/Hezbollah) - please get in touch with me or @Fighting_Fund so we can try and assist.

My landmark legal victory against @BristolUni is being appealed. My case established that anti-Zionist beliefs are protected under the Equality Act 2010. The University wants to overturn this. But if we win at the Employment Appeal Tribunal, we’ll strengthen this precedent, which is invaluable and necessary for pro-Palestine campaigners across Britain and beyond. 🇵🇸 I need to raise at least £75k for the appeal. @s8c @Tracking_Power @BristolUni In Employment Tribunal cases, each party usually has to bear their own costs. While Professor Miller is likely to receive compensation for lost earnings and so on (this will have to be determined at a future hearing), he cannot claim back his legal fees against the university.

VICTORY AT THE EMPLOYMENT TRIBUNAL The Employment Tribunal has released its judgment in my landmark legal case against @BristolUni, concluding that I was wrongfully dismissed in October 2021 and discriminated against because of my anti-Zionist beliefs. This is not just a victory for me, but also a victory for pro-Palestine campaigners across Britain. Over many years, anti-Zionists have faced harassment and censorship in Britain due to the efforts of the Israel lobby. Many people have faced disciplinary procedures and lost their jobs for manifesting their anti-Zionist beliefs. Before I took my case, it was unclear whether a belief in the idea that Zionism is a racist, imperialist, and colonial ideology could be protected under the Equality Act 2010 as a philosophical belief. I’m proud to say that, with this case, we have proven that anti-Zionist beliefs, of the sort that I articulated, should be protected. I hope this case will become a touchstone precedent in all the future battles that we face with the racist and genocidal ideology of Zionism and the movement to which it is attached. The determination that I was sacked for my anti-Zionist beliefs is a vindication of the case I made all the way through this process. The University of Bristol maintained that I was sacked because Zionist students were offended by my various remarks. However, it was plain from the evidence provided by the university’s own witnesses, that I was sacked because of the anti-Zionist nature of my comments. This verdict is also a vindication of the approach I have taken throughout this period, which is to say that a genocidal and maximalist Zionism can only be effectively confronted by a maximalist anti-Zionism. The self-justifying and defensive approach of the sort illustrated by many on the left and even in the Palestine Solidarity movement will not work. The Zionist movement cannot be negotiated with. It must be defeated. I thank the Tribunal, Judge Pirani, and the two panellists Ms Kaye and Mr Launder for the professional way that proceedings were conducted and for giving me a fair hearing in spite of many external pressures. I also thank my legal team @ZillRah7 of @RahmanLowe and Zac Sammour of @11KBW for their strong commitment, from the outset, to defending the right to be anti-Zionist. I am also truly grateful to every single person who has donated to this case through the @Fighting_Fund. Without your support, there is no way I could have seen this through to the end. This is just as much your victory as it is mine. Now we need to spread the campaign to #DismantleZionism all around the world - wherever the Zionist movement raises its ugly head.
