Eastern Tiger Swallowtail & Pearl Crescent added some distraction to the birds in Illinois with American Redstart Swainson’s Thrush, Northern Harrier, Sandhill Crane, Black & White Warbler, Scarlet Tanager, Orchard & Baltimore Oriole, Eastern Kingbird, Great Crested Flycatcher.

Illinois Forest’s alive with summer migrants, Tennessee Warbler, Red-eyed & Warbling Vireo singing throughout. Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Ovenbird, Common Yellowthroat, Tree Swallow, Magnolia, Connecticut, Bay-breasted, Chestnut-sided & Yellow Warbler made for a colourful experience

Whooper Swans still moving West at Swillington Ings this morning with 66 West at 8.08am, @wakeynats female Marsh Harrier, four Bittern ‘Booming’, nine B.-n. Grebe, four Redshank Ings, two Dunlin West, eight Chiffchaff, Little and Great Egret, 46 Curlew Res, Red Kite and Buzzard.

The Cairngorms must be the most beautiful place on earth, after early light snow the sun came out, Golden Eagle, two Raven, plenty of Red Grouse, a pair of Ptarmigan with female in full winter plumage and four Mountain Hares again all in winter plumage.

The sun was shining in the Durham Moors yesterday, good numbers of Black Grouse, four Snipe, 14 Curlew, approx. 80 Oystercatchers, Lapwing, two Dipper and 110 Pink footed Geese North West.
