While other factors do influence price on a smaller time scale, it's the dollar that drives bull and bear markets in gold. The dollar entered a long term secular bear market in 2022 and you can see how the excess liquidity has been leaking into and driving the bull market in metals. These secular trends tend to last multiple years and now that metals appear to have re entered the wall of worry phase it looks like the bull should run to at least 2028-30.

@LukeyTrags @bowtiedstocks With 0839, they have been investing heavily over the previous years and ready now to benefit. Recent earnings growth is a great indication of that. The bear case of Chinese education are mainly poor demographics looking forward. R/R still on my side, I don't intend to hold it 5+y

@FilipWeber3 Fair enough. Are your concerned about either of their growth outlooks? They may appear cheap historically but if growth flattens or even declines then you get both multiple + earnings compressions simultaneously which is always dangerous as @bowtiedstocks loves to say

@LukeyTrags @bowtiedstocks I get your point, always prepared things might go well worse and I'd be facing a loss. But an established global leader dropping 70% off highs because of two profit warnings? It's a 100% buy, great r/r opportunity.

@LukeyTrags Sometimes you're just wrong. I loaded some HK.0839 in March and look how it collapsed since, regardless of posting good earnings last week. I'm still though scanning China's edu sector and see other buys there.

@Trader__007 @UKLabour To be fair, current Labour is not good enough to incorporate any form of 'socialism', whatever it is. Starmer and his team are just the worse kind of 'liberal-left' bullshit tarnishing the West continuously since Blair and Clinton got to power.

Michael Burry made $100 million for himself and $725 million for his investors betting against the housing market in 2008. Hollywood made a movie about him called The Big Short. Last quarter he made his BIGGEST market call in 17 years. Here's where he's putting his money now: – He opened a 3.5% position in PayPal at $49.38 – He's adding Salesforce (CRM) – He's adding MSCI – He's holding Adobe (ADBE), Autodesk (ADSK), Veeva (VEEV), Fiserv (FISV). Every name on that list is software or payments. Every name on that list got destroyed in the recent selloff. Wall Street thinks AI is going to kill these companies, Burry thinks Wall Street is wrong. His thesis: the recent software crash wasn't about AI disruption It was driven by technical pressure in private credit markets. None of his picks rely on private credit. He says the AI disruption fears are overblown. This is the same Burry who: – Shorted Palantir with put options on 5 million shares – Shorted Nvidia with put options on 1 million shares – Accused hyperscalers of using accounting tricks to hide $176 billion in depreciation – Called this the biggest speculative bubble of all time Translation: Burry doesn't think tech is dead. He thinks the AI Mag 7 are overpriced and the rest of tech is mispriced The man who saw 2008 coming when nobody else did just told you exactly what he's buying and why. Every time he makes a new move, we will break it down here. Turn on notifications so you don’t miss the alert, this is VERY important. Many people will wish they followed us sooner.

@Kathleen_Tyson_ But this can't be prevented = the UK is a hostage to big corps and the likes and in it's current dire financial state has got no other choice than doing this.

@MosiniElisa The euro has been an unmitigated disaster, what are you talking about? Asset bubbles, big banking crises and multi-year deep recessions with record youth unemployment in many countries, to name some of the predictable fruits of the euro.

Péter Magyar has stated that adopting the euro is in Hungary’s national interest and has indicated a target for its implementation around 2030. Wonderful! The euro means stability, trust, and stronger economic integration. One of Europe’s greatest successes. Let’s go! 🇪🇺🇭🇺

Let me get this straight… I can buy one of the UK’s major housebuilders for less than tangible book, with a £60B future revenue land pipeline, huge institutional ownership, decades of operating history, and a strategic landbank being converted from £5.6k plots into £44k plots, while the market treats it like a dying retailer with a lease problem. Apparently land, houses and planning permissions are worth nothing now. Useful to know.

Global growth is very weak. The yellow column shows what growth in 2026 would be if GDP is flat after Q4 '25. This is what people call "carryover." For France, that's 0.5% versus my forecast of 0.7% in gray. France is flatlining and many others are too... robinjbrooks.substack.com/p/physical-sho…

@eaujusth1 @Frenchie_ Well, the post was aiming at getting undervalued names rather than those who are richly valued already. Do your homework, check IAG, Ryan, Delta. AF is a similar quality company and with favorable winds, might get a 200-400% run at some point.

@FilipWeber3 @Frenchie_ It should be, but it is not. Current value is 9€. And the fuel crisis is part of the market, like every crisis, so may be the value will keep going down in 2026.
