Why those big company execs are paid heavily. It’s not just about what they bring to the company, it is also about: 1. Industry benchmark: They see themselves as global companies. They mostly think in $$$. What are the execs of similar companies in other markets earning? The highest earning person here earns less than $3m per annum. 2. Revenue size: These salary numbers are a drop in the ocean of the money these companies make. N400m per month is N4.8b per annum. Seplat’s revenue in 2025 was N4 trillion. A CEO salary, which is 1/1,000 or 0.1% of the company’s revenue, is a dot in company’s revenue. 3. Yes, they bring a lot to the table. These guys are very experienced. A single poor decision by them can cost the company more than their annual salary.

I really want to know what they bring to these companies that justifies such huge pay. @SirJarus @HabuSadeik

I respect you but this is painfully flawed. I’d ordinarily ignore if it were just insensitive but it’s also intellectually shallow. To say it’s better the children died is not logic at play but a kind of pseudo-moral calculus that confuses resignation with realism. By your logic, why haven’t you ended your own life? Surely you too know suffering. Surely you too are aware that life offers no guarantees, that we are all doomed in some cosmic sense. But you live, don’t you? Why? The reason you haven’t done so is because just like you, we don’t endure life because life is easy, we endure life because it matters. Because some things might have mattered. Because we ALL are selectively rational where it serves us and selectively irrational where it protects us. It is surely reasonable to make decisions within the limits of your means (however privileged those means may be) but there MUST be no illusion that everyone will make those choices. The assumption that we’re all rational actors is only neat in theory but is not congruent to human nature. There has been no socio-economic condition that ever stopped people from having kids. None. Because the act of parenting a child is not just a social event that occurs when one is socio-economically ready, it is also an evolutionary impulse, a search for meaning. There is no rationality that suppresses this instinct at scale, social classes notwithstanding. What happened to that lady isn’t a reasoned outcome but a failure of a system, not of the woman, and certainly not of the babies. And when your first instinct in the face of that failure is to justify the loss of innocent life instead of raging against the indifference that made it so, you’re not only lost your humanity, you’ve mistaken its absence for intelligence.

Never make the mistake of comparing the U.S. market to the Nigerian market! For context, a single company on the NYSE, Nvidia, has a market capitalization that nearly matches the entire London Stock Exchange. Truth is, no other market in the world comes close to the scale and depth of the U.S. market. Know this and manage your expectations when investing in other markets

Today, my heart is overwhelmed with a joy words can barely hold. I think the time is finally right to share this story… In 2018, I met Jamiu. He was a curious kid, brilliant and full of light. At the time, he was working as a roadside mechanic in the slums of Majidun, Ikorodu. I invited him and his brother Ayomide to our weekend chess academy. I immediately grew very fond of them as they were very talented and of great character as well. When I asked to meet their parents, he led me to a tiny shed and hugged a woman with the kindest smile. “That’s my mum” he said. I noticed her leg was amputated. She had lost her right leg in a tragic accident: while scavenging for plastic bottles at a dump site to feed her children, an excavator ran over her. She was never taken to the hospital as there was no money to sort the medical bills. Her Husband had abandoned her as soon as Jamiu was born so they never got to meet their father. That day, I made a quiet vow to never leave them behind. In 2019, their mum fell critically ill. I held her hand as she cried and asked me to take care of her boys if anything happened to her. I reassured her that she was going to remain alive to see her boys excel. It was a promise I couldn’t keep… Two weeks later, she passed. That day, I became a father. They moved in with me. We got them back in school. Jamiu became a chess champion and is currently completing his University education. I’ve watched him grow into a remarkable young man. His brother Ayomide, a track and field star in his final secondary school education year. My heart is full, I’m glad I got to be a part of their story. Today, 7 years later… we’re together in America and Jamiu just won the ICN Chess Championship in New York, ahead of 200+ USCF-rated players, and earned a $500 scholarship. I know your Mum watches you from heaven with a smile 🕊️ Your dreams are boundless Jamiu. Continue to Dare greatly and show the world what you’re truly made of. I fought back tears today because I am immensely proud of you. Mama Jamiu, your boys are doing well. I kept my promise. I always will.

EB-1 and EB-2 applicants, take note. This is Trump’s stance, which I completely agree with. We can’t allow MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of unknown people from unknown backgrounds to keep pouring into the country…it’s not sustainable. We won’t have a country anymore if it’s not reversed. Even the super liberal Justin Trudeau of Canada is now seeing sense and reversing course. And keep in mind that what happened in Canada was legal immigration where they knew those coming in…now imagine not knowing who is who. This election is so black and white to me. The issues at stake are so clear. Border security or not Freedom of speech or not (You can’t have Freedom of religion without freedom of speech, think about it.) World War III or not Election Integrity or not In short, do we want America to still be America or not?
ELON CLIPS@ElonClipsX

Elon Musk: I'm pro-immigration, but those who come here should be assets to society. “Obviously, as someone who's an immigrant, I'm pro-immigrant. I just want to make sure that people who come here are going to be assets to society and that they're going to raise our standard of living. I think the sports team analogy is a good one. If we have the equivalent of Kobe Bryant or Steph Curry or LeBron, or something like that, and they want to join the team, absolutely, of course! Do you like winning? Yeah? Okay! But if they can't play basketball, they shouldn't be joining.” Folsom, October 17, 2024

Except you own and manage a law firm in NIGERIA, please don’t listen to her. If you own a law firm, you can even decide to tattoo your forehead and meet clients like that. At the very least, you will get to advise Portable.

I don’t agree. I am a successful woman by any standard & in any country. In Nigeria I go to any meetings with my triple facial piercings, tattoos, leg chain (why is anyone looking at anyone’s ankle)? And I work in an industry that is one of the most conservative in Nigeria. Law
