Meta is spending on AI infrastructure just like OpenAI, there are two massive differentiators between the two. - Meta is spending its own hard-earned organic cashflows to expand their AI Capex. - OpenAI is operating on what wall street likes to call OPM (Other People’s Money). This means Meta has much less risk than OpenAI does when it comes to funding. Secondly, Meta is building AI to increase monetization, strength, longevity, and efficiency for its core business model aka, ads. OpenAI, on the other hand, is trying to make AI its core business model, which is a hyper competitive landscape where Google and Anthropic are both eating their market share at a lower cost.

@amktparticipant True, and honestly they shouldn't have ever been that low. That is probably a large reason for the massive price increases and now a lock in effect.

If Hormuz stays closed another 3-4 weeks, it all begins to crumble...into an already-teetering global sovereign debt problem & consumer credit problem. Based on what I'm hearing, it is highly likely Hormuz will remain closed for at least another 3-4 weeks. Let's watch.

It's actually quite simple. If the threat is eliminated, there will be no need for increased posture long term. This is just retard logic. When terror in the region stops, the terror tax on oil will go away. Source: YouTube search.app/qXvLK

@InvestInAssets If you are a retail investor and wanted to know which one of these to start with, as a passive investor or value investor, study Warren Buffett. If you want to understand the logic and common sense of value to growth, choose Peter Lynch. They will teach you the most.

@theallinpod @Jason Where will that 50% increase cost per engineer come from? Margin compression? Or compensation packages?

Jensen Huang: “If that $500,000 engineer did not consume at least $250,000 worth of tokens, I'm going to be deeply alarmed.” The Nvidia CEO expects his highly paid engineers to be spending at least HALF their salaries on tokens to supercharge their abilities. @Jason: “ The conversation we've had on the pod a number of times is, ‘Oh my God, look at the token usage in our companies.’ It is growing massively.” “And some people are asking, ‘Hey, when I join a company, how many tokens do I get? Because I want to be an effective employee.’” “You've postulated, I believe, $75,000 in tokens for each engineer, something like that.” “So are you spending, at Nvidia, $1 billion, $2 billion on tokens for your engineering team right now?” Jensen: “We're trying to.” “Let me give you the thought experiment: Let's say you have a software engineer or AI researcher and you pay them $500,000 a year. We do that all the time.” “That $500,000 engineer, at the end of the year, I'm going to ask them, how much did you spend in tokens?” “If that person said, ‘$5,000,’ I will go ape… something else.” “If that $500,000 engineer did not consume at least $250,000 worth of tokens, I'm going to be deeply alarmed. “And this is no different than one of our chip designers who says, ‘Guess what? I'm just going to use paper and pencil, I don't think I'm going to need any CAD tools.’” Jason: “This is a real paradigm shift, to start thinking about these all-star employees, it almost reminds me of what we learned in the NBA when LeBron James started spending a million dollars a year just on his health and his body, like in maintaining it. Here he is at age 41, still playing.” “These are incredible knowledge workers. Why wouldn't we give them superhuman abilities?”

@Kalshi We need to teach people to be beneficiaries of capitalism rather than subjects of it. If we dont, meritocracy and capitalism will continue to lose support. We have a massive culture and education problem in the west.

@FindleysFinance It was never a peaceful region. There are always fights between Jews and Arabs and between Arabs. I think it would help a lot if old school politicians would go forever. But we have this problem everywhere.

This is so insanely disingenuous. They report the oil problem as if its due to the conflict. In reality, Iran isnt retaliating, they are targeting commercial infratructure to terrorize the global markets. In doing so, they have turned nearly every country in the region against them. Why do so many wealthy people insist they're NOT wealthy? This is a real quote from a woman whose household income is over $2 million/year. She doesn't consider herself wealthy! Why do you think this tendency to deny being wealthy is so common?
