"It’s time to pull the plug at Thames Water," says former investment banker at Credit Suisse First Boston. "The board has failed to deliver — bring in the Special Administrators." Everyone else gets it, how come @Ofwat don't? 🤔 ft.com/content/dc46d2…

🧵 The Official Opposition previously held 70-74% of opposition seats following recent general elections. Now the Conservative Party holds just 53%. As it's smaller than its predecessors should its rights and responsibilities as the Official Opposition be adjusted accordingly? 1/

When I announced that I was standing for Parliament lots of people told me that I’d lose my deposit, so I’m glad to get this back: the same wodge of notes that I handed over six weeks ago. That’s something to be proud of.

Drive to work x Reform vote share. Does public transport make you woke, or do I need a nap?

& only two left in Cambridgeshire plus Peterborough, which is the @CambsPboroCA area. Badmouthing humanities, vicious cuts, indebting home & hostility to overseas students are all guaranteed to lose votes near academia & not just @UniofOxford & @Cambridge_Uni either.

One thing I'd do if I were PM, would be to rectify this and all similar injustices, where successive UK governments have failed to implement their own laws. I don't like and voters don't like #hypocrisy and saving money by depriving vulnerable groups is worthy only of #contempt
CEDAW in Law Reach Programme ⚖️@CEDAWinLAW

Successive Govts have steadfastly refused to implement #CEDAW into domestic law despite ratification in 1986. Had #CEDAW been implemented, the drastic changes to #pensions policies of recent years would have to have been #gendersensitive Time for a #WomensBillOfRights ♀️

Voted early today . Polling station fairly busy. We also have a student election on the go at college to see if 16-17 year olds vote the same way as the national result.

I am trying to get my voice heard, I have written to my MP Rishi Sunak, His reply was unsatisfactory and now I get no response. Due to the government’s cruel new financial requirements for a U.K. spouse visa I will have to leave the U.K. I am a British citizen Anna is not. Anna and I have been together 8 years. Married. I am self employed, I own my house outright. Anna is a university graduate, freelance illustrator, speaks 3 languages. I don’t meet the new U.K. financial requirements. I visit Anna several times a year, so when I’m not working I am not earning. I also live in the north of England, wages are lower than London. We are tied up in the governments game to get the numbers down. If I was above the £29,000 but had a mortgage or rent to pay of £10,000 per year then that would be fine. I don’t have mortgage or rent and still I can’t live with Anna in the U.K. Why? What is the U.K. government so afraid of? Thank you for taking the time to read this.
