Fundraiser by trade, Mum to a 12 year old, cookbook collector, T1 diabetic (adult onset), lover of cheese, coffee and dark chocolate. Opinions all my own.

@ClintVSmith There will probably be a few fundraisers looking at any large donations received from new donors thinking - “ick”.

What’s the first news story you remember from your childhood? I remember Eve van Grafhorst, the Australian child who contracted HIV via a blood donation & was hounded out of her country. I was so upset that such a sweet girl was treated so poorly, just because she had a disease

@Becs I think the answer would be different for men and women.

How many times would you get married? I mean just for comparison Liz Taylor was married 8 x to seven different men (she married Richard Burton twice).

@Becs Depends entirely on energy levels, but a woman locally runs a clothing swap/drinks and company afternoon once a year. People show up with their clothes and swap - all sizes and shapes. Leftovers to charity shop. Everyone from 13 year olds to 75 year olds. Super positive.

I have a bunch of clothes I need to get rid of because they don’t fit or I just don’t wear them. I don’t have the steam to sell them on TradeMe or wherever. Just going to donate them I guess.

@LI_politico See also perimenopause, except because you are a T1 diabetic you can’t get sleeping pills because you have to wake easily to treat hypos.

@Becs I think I’m older and I love Tiktok as does Miss 13. I’ve been teaching her how to swear in French using it :)

@Becs I think my love of this word is one of the reasons my daughter has a name starting with V.

@HdizzyDizzle I have two autoimmune conditions. Sometimes I’m awake during the night making sure low blood sugar doesn’t kill me. On those days the fact that I have the flexibility to work from home means I’m actually productive the entire day. That extra hour of not commuting is huge.

Everyone’s banging on about working from home and I just want you to know this disable person is working from home and in bed so my body that’s swollen for no apparent reason can rest. I’d never be able to do this in an office. My day would be managing and masking my pain.

@Becs @LI_politico Hopefully whatever he gave you helps. I was prone to eye infections for a while and they are miserable. Hot compresses can help a bit.

@cath_nz My daughter's a current student. I'm so impressed by the way the school leadership and students are handling this.

@HdizzyDizzle Definitely harder if you’re older, it’s basically having good skin. But getting good exfoliator that works, plus serum and then a lighter foundation that you can build up like a tinited moisturiser or skin tint. And a non-powder highlighter and blush. But basically be young.

Hi - wondering if you can tell me how you make your foundation look all glowy like the kids are doing nowadays. Apart from getting my sweat on I’m not sure how it’s done.

@HdizzyDizzle The only thing that I found that got rid of them was Hedrin. In between treatments wet combing with conditioner and blow drying with a hot hair dryer. But the Hedrin was they most effective.

Just got an invoice and learned my GP has raised the fee for a prescription from $15 to $25. I have two meds I need a script for every 3 months at least until I am $50. 🙄
