@WayneMathison @mileslunn I’m happy to see that someone finally put smug Miles in his place. I would love to see a rebuttal from him to L. Wayne, but I won’t be holding my breath.

Nope. Sovereignty is not performative chest-thumping. Real sovereignty means getting a deal done, making Canada wealthy, armed, productive, and indispensable. You do not protect independence by picking stupid fights with your largest trading partner. You protect it by becoming too valuable to ignore and too strong to push around. That means energy, resources, defence, manufacturing, ports, pipelines, technology, and serious trade leverage. Canada should not kowtow to anyone. But acting weak while calling yourself independent is not sovereignty. It is cosplay with a flag.

Problem with some on right. Canada is a sovereign country and we will decide what type of relation we have with US. Kowtowing to Trump administration is not what we need or most Canadians want
Jasmin Laine@JasminLaine_

@mileslunn If you don’t like the USA, move to a country that doesn’t work with them. There’s plenty of one party/literal and practical dictatorships to choose from.

Jennifer, this is just credential snobbery pretending to be economics. Pierre Poilievre does not need a PhD to understand what first-year economics actually teaches: incentives matter, deficits are not free, inflation punishes workers, taxes change behaviour, and governments cannot borrow their way into prosperity forever. The funny part is that Pierre’s basic point is the one Liberals keep proving for him. They said deficits would be small. Wrong. They said inflation was temporary. Wrong. They said carbon taxes would not hurt affordability. Wrong. They said more government spending would create prosperity. Wrong. They said housing would get better under federal “plans.” Wrong. So instead of answering the argument, Jennifer sneers at the certificate on the wall. That is not critical thinking. That is academic cosplay. Pierre’s advantage is simple: he understands incentives better than people who confuse government spending with economic growth. Canada does not need another lecture from someone defending the same policies that made life unaffordable. It needs a government that cuts waste, rewards work, builds homes, approves projects, and lets productive people produce.

Pierre holds a minor recognition in economics, but that doesn't stop him from ignoring the basic knowledge of any micro/macroeconomics first year course. It captures the interest of those who don't critically assess the things they read.

Mark Carney’s latest fiscal update is politically similar to a Harper document, with many small targeted programs but fiscally reminiscent of the Trudeau era, with substantial new spending, despite a deficit decrease compared to the 2025 Budget Here's what's in the Spring Economic Update #cdnpoli

@FrankMa95166924 @DrGuitar Angel was never a legitimate breakout act. All I can say is that if I were an exec at their record label, I would have advised against using the Guiffria name. Of all my years of leading local cover bands, there’s a reason I’ve never named my bands after my name.

@FioritoLou @DrGuitar Not really any different than Van Halen, Dokken, Vandenberg, etc. And Guiffria had name recognition thru his years in Angel. I actually bought their 1st record because I immediately knew it was his band.

@FrankMa95166924 @DrGuitar Yes, I’m very aware of that. You do know that he could have still acted as leader of the band without having to name it after himself? The band had a lot of promise, but the branding was a failure of Marketing 101.
