@metsfan8626 @hhuanyc I just don’t understand signing Soto long term if you’re not all in. All these short contracts an letting Diaz an Alonso go assumably bc they cost too much. It just makes no sense.

@FireInEpplerLGM @hhuanyc I mean that would be pretty risky job security wise unless Cohen was on board with it which I highly doubt. I think Stearns has a pretty long leash but I don’t think it’s gamble with the season like that long if that makes sense.

This is a recipe for disaster. An Achilles injury would effectively wipe him out for the duration of his Mets tenure.

@metsfan8626 @hhuanyc I think it’s clear that Stearns wants to put an average team on the field and if at the deadline they’re not in the hunt he will trade Bichette and others for prospects. Kinda like a rebuild year but not entirely
