I keep hearing “we want our country back”. Yeah we all do. How’s about being able to buy a home on one wage? Or wages even being liveable? What about same day GP appointments? Or ambulances arriving within minutes? Clean rivers and beaches? I could go on and on. But I’ll tell one thing… it’s not migrants who’ve taken these possibilities away… it’s capitalist greed. Have you noticed we don’t own anything anymore? Almost everything is subscription… films, music, software for your phone or PC. Tell me how this is anything to do with migrants? Look to the people with the power, not to the people with NONE.

Disabled people’s organisations, including @Dis_PPL_Protest, @TakingThePIP1 & @DisRightsUK, have rightly condemned Labour’s so-called “concessions” on disability benefit cuts. It’s not a concession to condemn future generations to less support. I’ll be voting against this Bill.

Have I got this right? Starmer’s concessions re: pip is
disabled ppl who don’t score 4 points on 1 daily living q won’t get their PIP yanked now, but at their next review?
new claimants will still have to score 4 points?
If so, how is this a concession?

@Firecrazee Details are needed, but what experts in policy seem to be suggesting is that reviews for current claimants will be done under existing rules with no 4 point rule, only new claimants will be under new rules. Unclear what happens to existing claimants with change of circumstances

Just because these supposed concessions to the welfare cuts won't affect existing claimants does not mean they should be in any way supported.

New rules require people to score 4+ points on one daily living task to qualify. But bipolar doesn’t work like that. Can someone cook? Maybe. But reliably, safely, and consistently every day? Not during depressive or manic episodes.

@Firecrazee @UKLabour My daughter waited 10 months for her decision. I saw what huge fear and immense stress just applying put her through. Now she has the worry that she could lose some, or all of it. I have no more words for this cruelty.
