@JennaFights4You There was also a time that lobotomies were an acceptable medical practice.

There was a time when left-handed people were ‘corrected’ because it made others uncomfortable. It’s worth remembering how often society gets things wrong before it gets them right, especially with trans racial people.

This is another example of TERFS acting ridiculous in public for attention: 1. You don't understand how changing rooms work. You don't change in front of anyone. 2. You were harassing an employee, so he asked you to leave the store. 3. Now you're playing victim and changing the narrative for attention.
Abouterf@Abouterf197543

Colchester @marksandspencer I asked where the women’s changing room was to try on swimwear. Manager Andrew (he/ his /him) says gender neutral changing areas are “completely safe” for women and girls. For asking him this question, he told me to leave the store. @SexMattersOrg

@about2face @dcexaminer Gynecomastia has no functional purpose, can be painful and a possible sign of breast cancer in men. Circumcision is an unnecessary procedure of functional tissue so it should be banned. Not the same.

@FirstLadyBedo @dcexaminer Gynecomastia correction does. Circumcision does. If you think kids can't consent to functional removal procedures, then ban all of them.

Claire Abernathy was put on testosterone at 14, had a double mastectomy before she was in high school, and was fighting to have her medical transition reversed by 17. Now 21, she is detransitioning and urging lawmakers to help protect minors. trib.al/ZZmqAPh

@about2face @dcexaminer The difference is breast implant surgery does not REMOVE healthy functional mammory glands and the whole of the breast tissue. Doctors do not remove healthy tissue or body parts if it removes their fundamental function. That's where the ethics comes in.

@trippwhitbeck @river_is_nice Jiggers should really only be used for mixed cocktails to ensure replicability and so the portions are correct. For a neat...no need.

@river_is_nice As a guy who makes Bourbon for a living, and as someone who almost went into high-end bartending, there is NOTHING that turns me off more than when a bartender pulls out a jigger. It's a horrible look and vibe!

@river_is_nice This is untrue. This is to prevent over pouring and profit loss. I worked for two different family owned businesses that had something similar to correct over-pours by the staff.

@HelenWebberley It's actually akin to former medical scandals such as lobotomies and unnecessary oophorectomy for "hysterical" females. We will look back in horror over the brutalization of chopping up healthy bodies and allowing males to encroach on female only spaces.

@about2face @dcexaminer Thousands of non trans young females in fact DO NOT get voluntary double mastectomies every year. A doctor would refuse such a procedure bc it is unethical to remove functional healthy body parts.

@MdVet4 @pacebeats @FoodFreedomNH That's absolutely true but it all depends on your region and access to other wholesalers. I just find it silly people are annoyed at the existence of Sysco and the use of Sysco as some sort of stain on a restaurant's quality. They've been around since 1970.

@FirstLadyBedo @pacebeats @FoodFreedomNH monopolies are rarely total. As you acknowledged wholesalers exist. Its a matter of making the expense and the effort AND for a business marketing to customers why its worth it. China isnt a monopoly, it just costs twice as much to buy things that are china free, still worth it

@FirstLadyBedo @FoodFreedomNH The last three “nice” places I bartended quite literally never ordered anything from Sysco, despite the entire city using them. Idk man it’s possible to not use shit services.

@MattyUSMC7380 @FoodFreedomNH They dont like that restaurants dont locally source EVERYTHING. Which is an impossibility for most. This isn't news or controversial of course for anyone who's ever worked in the service industry.

@FirstLadyBedo @FoodFreedomNH I owned a cafe and we used the restaurant depot and restaurant store for those products. I think Sysco customers often use them as a means of convenience as they distribute straight to the restaurant where as restaurant depot is cash and carry wholesalez

@JASONHA17381011 @FoodFreedomNH Those foods can be things like salt, butter, flour and cheese but not pre prepared foods that they also sell. Ive only seen one restaurant (Ive worked in many) that bought their prepared menu items and it was a tourist trap in the French Quarter.

@FoodFreedomNH They quite literally are THE supplier for these things. Every single restaurant that I worked at in my bartending career used sysco. From 3 star fine dining to small family owned businesses. Again, they carry more than food products.
