Maybe I'm the odd one, but I cannot imagine getting violent over words. People say mean things all of the time. My blood doesn't rise at all, let alone get close to what would be required for violence. Is this unusual?

@Firstamender @Das_fuhrer1488 Jeez, you have zero reading comprehension. Now you’re agreeing with me without even knowing it. If chud threaten violence by saying he would shoot them without brandishing a weapon then got hit, yes he would have a way harder time proving it was self defence.

It is saying: "If the person using FORCE provoked..." as in, CHUD, who USED FORCE (the gun) PROVOKED the other individuals attempted use of force (the fist). By calling people epithets over and over and "ook ook ahh ahh" comparing them to chimps would drive any reasonable person a desire to fight. This is the problem.

No. there are very specific criteria required to be considered a provocation. it is under the basis that a reasonable person might be driven to violence simply by the utterance of the words being said. I would imagine saying "chimping out" and "ook ook ahh ahh" to black people and calling them the n-word with the hard R with the EXPLICIT purpose to provoke for content, then YES, it is provocation and he's going to PRISON for a VERY long time!

If the person punches you, runs away, then you shoot them in the back? That’s attempted murder. If someone punches you, and continues to attempt to do harm? That’s self defense.
