North Dakota State has no natural rivals at the FBS level. Which Mountain West team do you think would make the best rival for the Bison?

In the three states I’ve lived youth baseball and softball are almost always played on Sunday. They are also all-day events, something that is more conducive for families with 1-2 kids. Obviously that’s not the case for everyone everywhere, but if you’re looking for a sport for LDS families that have 3+ more kids, baseball and softball aren’t always the easiest choice. Probably makes a smaller pool of LDS recruits which is important at BYU.

What do we need to do to get more support for @BYUBaseball & @byusoftball?? We have so many elite teams on campus… These two teams need more. More talent, more NIL? MORE!!

@swess_ball They were in the red in 2024-25 coming off a great season and Campbell still coaching. 2026 is looking like it could be a tough year to make money.

@flatland_sports Well what has the big 12 done in the past 20 years to prove themselves as an equal to the big 10 or sec? Or what about the last 5 years? The only big 12 team to make the natty in the last 16 years got beat by 60 by a sec team. Interested to hear your argument.

Big 12 has approved its private capital deal with RedBird Capital - the first such arrangement from a major NCAA conference. Schools have a choice to opt in for ~$30M in capital and league gets at least a $12.5M infusion as part of a strategic partnership bit.ly/4n3CTnp

@Firstand16_Pod Hilarious to tweet this as a big 12 fan, since the gap between the SEC and big 12 is bigger than the gap between Big 12 and CUSA…

According to ESPN sources, Sorsby bet on Indiana football while redshirting for IU as a true freshman in 2022, a season in which he played in a single game as a reserve. The bets in 2022, per sources, were on Indiana to win and none came in a game in which Sorsby appeared.

A lot of dialogue around P4 and G5 needing to split. I also go into the end of college athletics for many sports as Arkansas cuts Men's and Women's tennis to save enough money for the equivalent of... 60% of their point guard's NIL. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the…

Nothings absolutely impossible, but this is the pathway… 1. Be the best G5 school 2. Go on the road and beat the No. 5 team 3. Beat the No. 4 seed 4. Beat the No. 1 seed 5. Win the National Championship game. Play 100 seasons and the G5 team likely pulls this off maybe once. Once in a century. Out of 65 teams. That’s 6499 teams who don’t in 100 years. And that one isn’t even guaranteed.

@Firstand16_Pod It’s not impossible it. That’s the mindset that really pisses me off. As long as it’s possible, it can be done. That mindset is what ruins college sports!

Getting a lot of pushback from G5 schools. Here is what you don’t understand…. I don’t hate you guys. In fact I feel for you. We are in a system where it is literally IMPOSSIBLE for any G5 to win the National Championship. There are 65 G5 schools and with the most recent change to the rules, only one of those schools makes the Playoff, likely as a 12-seed. That means going on the road to play the 5-seed. Win that game? Now you get the 4-seed, the likely the 1 and the 2. Meanwhile your best players are transferring out every single year chasing NIL and exposure. The system is set up for you to fail. I hate it. I root for a team who was a G5 for nearly my whole life. I get it. The best option is to break off and create you own Championship.

You’re not looking at the math correctly The average Big 12 had 43% of the amount of picks as the SEC. The American had 11% of the amount of picks as the Big 12. In other words, for every 100 SEC players picked, there 43 Big 12. For every 100 Big 12 players picked there were 11 American.

The gap from the SEC to the Big 12/ACC is statistically greater than the gap between the Big 12/ACC and the Group of 6. Respectfully, it’s time to stop pretending there’s a “Power 4.”
