@Firstand16_Pod Most P4 schools will play a couple of non conference P4 opponents all year. The first will be early, before both teams hit their stride. The 2nd is likely in a bowl game where much of the rosters opt out. Ya can't make accurate comparisons this way.

My knee jerk reaction is to say this will fuel regionality returning by 2040 at the latest but I'm aware UW still receives a partial share of the B1G Rev Share but when they hit full % in 2030, will it be enough to offset this loss until then or will it add fuel to the Pac 4 returning?

The Univ. of Washington's Board of Regents projects the athletics operating budget for FY2027 will have a $16M negative cash flow. The FY2027 budgeted deficit is an improvement on the $19M negative cash flow projected on its approved operating budget for FY2026. Via @seattletimes | ow.ly/QSV250ZmuHX

@Firstand16_Pod Maybe it will make more sense in this context. The SEC still has the best record against power 4 conferences.

Soccer fans, why is there only one main referee covering 22 players? Seems like a lot of stuff is getting missed…

Look at it like a stock portfolio. ESPN owns 3 stocks: Tesla, Google, and Apple Tesla is 70% of their portfolio Google is 20% Apple is 10% They are going to do everything they can to make Tesla stock rise. If the others do as well, great! If not, it’s an okay loss. Tesla is the SEC. The ACC and Big 12 are the other stocks.

What I love most about the biased allegations is the fact that ESPN is the rights holder for 3 of the 4 leagues...

College Basketball is able to put together a full 30-33 game schedule every single off season with 12+/- games being nonconference. This allows team in rebuild mode to schedule an easier schedule, and teams looking for a deep NCAA run a tougher schedule to prepare them. It also allows conferences to put together matchups in conference that will lead to higher ratings, better matchups, and fair schedules. Why can't football do this? There is absolutely no reason in the world why this can't be done annually. Find three non conference games, and then let the conference create a fair schedule for everyone. The schedule difference between Arizona State and Texas Tech is INSANE.
