@MiamiCanes1971 Guess who else does this. Every single fanbase. Ohio State fans especially. And USC loves to tell you how relevant they used to be.

The SEC mindset in a nutshell: - They’ll blow you out in any hypothetical matchup - When you beat them in a real game, it doesn’t count because it doesn’t meet the exact criteria of their hypothetical - They double down that they’d still beat you in the hypothetical matchup

@CanesFan311 @MiamiCanes1971 @OldTakesExposed It applied to the season that was being discussed at the time. Notice my tweet said if we were to play them (implying that season). I didn’t say if we were to EVER play them. And judging by how both teams finished that year I told no lies. Whole fan base of dumbasses I swear 🤣

@bwfast Yeah but it has nothing to do with relegation/promotion. The talent level sucks and the games aren’t on great TV networks. That’s it

Is there another head coach that you would take over Marcus Freeman?

@cmillgolf @GeauxTigers7189 @Preferred_WO Kirby is a great coach. Done it for longer than cig for sure. He’s also younger. I’m biased, so I’m taking Cig. If I were a Georgia fan however, I wouldn’t want to trade Kirby for anybody… especially considering he’s got a number of years more than Cig. 🤝

@jazbo_14 @overrated_sec The guess is based partially on returning talent. Every SEC team you listed has better talent than Iowa. Does that mean they’ll have a better season? No. I trust Kirk Ferentz more than all of those coaches. But you can logically understand where the rankings come from

This is a list of FPI by ESPN. Their own proprietary algorithm btw. And it "guesses" what a teams power ranking will be. Auburn has a brand new head coach, coming off of a season where they won 5 games, and are coming into the 2026 season with a 40th (around there) ranking class. They don't belong on that list. Auburn isn't even on your blue chip list. You're SEC homering so hard right now. They don't belong on the FPI list

@jazbo_14 @overrated_sec South Carolina and Florida can be justified if you just base it on roster quality. Auburn over Iowa for the same reason. Do I expect good seasons from any of those schools? No. But if the strength of schedule rankings are based on rosters, it makes sense

@cmillgolf @overrated_sec Bc it was my original post. I said South Carolina, Auburn, and Florida have no business on that list. And sure enough, an SEC Homer presented himself

The entire SEC in the past 3 seasons has won a total of 2 CFP games vs non-conference P4 opponents, and has not appeared in a Natty game Last year alone, Miami—3rd place in the worst P4 conference—won 3 CFP games (2 vs SEC, 1 vs the reigning National Champs) and made the Natty SEC Dominance is a fabrication

Each SEC teams chances to make the CFB Playoff in alphabetical order: -Alabama: Very Possible -Arkansas: Fuck no🤣 (Might not win a game) -Auburn: No chance, but future is bright with Golesh -Florida: Absolutely Not -Georgia: 100% -Kentucky: Hahahhahahahahahah -LSU: Kiffin is their coach, so even if they do they won’t win a game -Miss State: Will surprise and make a bowl -Mizzou: Hardy carries them to 8 wins -OU: No, schedule is just way too tough -Ole Miss: Yes. Best Backfield in America -South Carolina: Beamer is their head coach. No chance -Tennessee: Maybe, but the unluckiest shit in the world will fuck us over -A&M: Yes -Texas: No, A&M will be the best team in TX -Vanderbilt: Absolutely 0% chance in hell. Last year was the only chance

ESPN ranks Arkansas’ SOS #1 and Ohio State’s #8 Funny now the SEC still gets endless preseason hype despite the NIL era exposing that it’s no longer the untouchable superconference many pretend it is

@gwilkie80 @espn Not only is the bias greatly overstated, the idea of filing suit is absurd and would be dismissed so quickly. Unfollow

Looks good until you get to Tennessee, Florida, Missouri, Auburn, and South Carolina. The SEC having more than half of the Top 25 just shows that @espn isn't even trying to hide it's bias any longer. When a company has financial interests in the SEC and CFP like ESPN does, it really should stay away from lists like this. One of these days someone is going to file a suit against ESPN and the CFP, and when that happens the discovery alone may be enough to take quite a few people down. The more SEC teams in the CFP, the more money that goes in ESPN and the SEC's coffers. They're lucky @BYUfootball or @NDFootball didn't go that route last year -- BYU especially would have had the objective stats to sway a judge or jury.
