Falklands FishOps

It's amazing what you can see on patrol. Today we had a pod of about 10 Orca following us and playing alongside us for about 20 minutes.

What a wild night here in the Falklands. The house is creaking worse than my knees when the gusts of wind hits. Its actually quite scary when you are out in it. I can certainly see why the vessels have all taken shelter where they can. Time to batten down the hatches and let out all the chain I have in my locker and ride it out. Happily I have enough ballast on board to keep me planted on the ground.

Today we have some lovely South Atlantic weather heading in, currently all our fishing vessels are moving to take cover just north of the Islands and in to the Falkland Sound. Wind speeds so far in excess of 80 knots and the worst is still to come.

Something different today, Lilibet is monitoring a fishing vessel under tow as she proceeds to the safety of the Falkland Islands.

With the weather playing ball now it was straight back to fisheries compliance boardings today.

The Easter Bunny even managed to find us in the middle of the south Atlantic. He's good 🐇🥚

It always amazes me how dark it is out in the South Atlantic.
