And lo, the beast looked upon the face of beauty... and beauty stayed his hand. And from that day forward, he was as one dead.

Hi Ayne, Irish Jew here, daughter of a German born Holocaust surviver. I should be angry at this outrageously stupid and ridiculis post and was tempted to scroll on, with an eye roll, but found I could not. So.. here goes ..I love my country, Ireland, and its people. We Irish "give out" a lot about many things, and rightly so, but when it gets down to the nitty gritty we stick together, love and protect each other. There is a long history of oppression and colonialism in Ireland which allows us Irish to understand the subject pretty darn well. I have many many friends here, most of whom I have no clue of what religion they might or might not practice or even how they vote in elections as that is of no interst to me and its a vice versa thing. The Irish couldn't give a sheit if you are Jewish or not. They do however, give a sheit, if you are blowing children to pieces, commiting genocide and stealing homes and land. The few people who I do know to be Jewish or of Jewish decent, are venimtly anti Zionist, as am I, and can be found on the front lines of Free Palestine marches, even speaking at them. To us..never again means never again.. to any one ..anywhere... ever! I hope that clarifies the issue for you.

The Chair of Revenue Commissioners told PAC that a significant number of State employers availed of the amnesty. It is undeniably in the PUBLIC INTEREST that every state, semi state, and org that gets taxpayer money is identified. That absolutely includes main stream media.

€50 million vs €50,000 A Parliamentary Question reveals the scale gap at the heart of PRSI misclassification. This is not about whether enforcement powers exist. It’s whether they are being used. @johnbradysf @IrishTimes @Independent_ie @irishexaminer #TWIP #liveline @rte

@williamhboney1 We'll hopefully have fusion working before we could possibly have a fission reactor built, complete waste of time even considering it imo. I'd reckon fusion should be working well within most of our lifetimes, great strides being made with it lately.

@BTriagain They always conveniently forget the Greeks coined British isles long before a place called Britain ever existed. They took the name from the archipelago, a greek name derived from the Celts 😅 pretty funny when they use that argument really.

Unionists say they're British because they think Ireland is in the British isles. They also say the Malvinas are British. British outside of Britain is just a term they use when they want to retain old colonial possessions. Unionism dilutes the term British of any meaning.

@williamhboney1 @irishcongress Problem with Irish unions is they don't care about employees, they only care about the big boys in the club at top and staying cosy with employers to make themselves feel powerful and have a contrived sense of control over their members. Pigs at a trough

It is the failure of Unions in Ireland that workers have no right to mandatory union recognition. Useless shower of self enriching cap doffers. Irish unions are the laughing stock of Europe’s unions @irishcongress
Paul Gavan@paul_gavan

Debate on strengthening #WorkersRights has began in the #Dail. Just one representative on Government benches to hear the debate. No sign of anyone from @fiannafailparty . Disgraceful from this government. Still no right to #CollectiveBargaining for Irish workers. @irishcongress

This was shared in schools recently and it's beyond ridiculous. Timber production matters, and Sitka spruce has a place. But we shouldn’t blur the line between commercial forestry and biodiversity rich ecosystems, especially in material aimed at children. Honesty matters.

@williamhboney1 @AndyMcDeeOne Deposit return is similar. Consumer pays the cost (time taken to return) and those that can afford it just chuck the bottle away, producer pays nothing with no incentive to change from plastic. Most plastic isn't really recyclable, a scheme made by producers to burden consumers.

@AndyMcDeeOne I get it that carbon tax is at least something in a sea of nothing, but it's the wrong something. Targeting behaviour is a top down not bottom up process if somebody is really serious about doing something effective. The producer evades the costs, the consumer pays in general.

John is a great environmentalist, he is passionate about the greatest threat facing humanity but I disagree about carbon tax. It is fundamentally unfair. Those suffering least, the top 10%, are by far the biggest carbon producers. Target wealth and you target behaviour.

John Gibbons on carbon tax: It may be unpopular, but we need it to avoid a far more expensive future - the government was wrong to cave in after protests. jrnl.ie/7014904
