Today's wind is causing issues on the roadways. From trashcans, tree limbs, picnic tables, street signs, and everything in between driving home today is like playing frogger. Street lights are also out in various parts of the city, treat those intersections like four way stops. Please be patient with first responders as we are out dodging objects and directing traffic.

The Fishers Police Department continues to receive 1–2 reports each week of residents losing money through Bitcoin scams. Scammers may claim your computer has been compromised or that you are involved in a criminal investigation. They will then pressure you to withdraw cash and deposit it into a Bitcoin ATM. Remember: NO legitimate government agency, law enforcement officer, tech company, or business will ever ask you to pay using Bitcoin. Scammers often: • Tell you to stay on the phone while you go to the ATM • Tell you not to tell anyone about the situation • Say they will “confirm the payment” once the Bitcoin is sent • Provide the exact location of a nearby Bitcoin ATM Once money is sent through Bitcoin, it is extremely difficult to recover. Victims are often pressured to send additional payments and scammers may continue contacting them for more money. Protect Yourself • Hang up immediately if someone asks for a Bitcoin payment • Talk to a trusted family member or friend before making any out-of-the-ordinary transaction • Contact the organization directly using an official phone number If you believe you are being targeted or have already sent money, contact your local law enforcement agency immediately. Please share this message with friends, neighbors, and family members, especially older adults who are often targeted. #FishersIN #ScamAlert #CommunitySafety

Knowledge is Power! Join us Wednesday, March 11th, for our next Internet Safety Seminar. We know many parents are having important and difficult conversations about online safety with their children. If you need help with where to begin or what to look for, the Fishers Police Department is hosting a free Online Safety Talk for Parents to provide guidance, resources, and practical tools to help families navigate today’s digital world. Children will not be allowed to attend this presentation. March 11 6–8 PM Space is limited and registration is required to attend. Additional sessions will also be held on: April 2 6-8 PM These conversations matter. Understanding the apps, warning signs, and ways to talk with your children about online interactions can make a difference. Our team has been hosting seminars like this for years, and you will walk away with valuable information. We have been hosting these seminars for more than 15 years and we’re committed to supporting and protecting our community, and that starts with education and awareness. An Internet Safety seminar geared towards kids or young adults to attend will be held in late April. You do not have to be a Hamilton County Resident to join us. signupgenius.com/go/10C0448ACAB…

Fishers Fire Department responded this morning to reports of a residential fire on East 116th Street. The family safely evacuated the home prior to the arrival of fire crews. A staff vehicle in the area reported visible smoke and fire conditions. Upon arrival, crews found the residence fully involved and worked to establish a water supply over a long hose lay, ultimately extinguishing the fire. No injuries were reported. The Fishers Fire Department Fire Prevention Bureau will investigate the cause of the fire. Fishers Fire Department thanks the @Fishers_Police and the @HCSOIndiana for their assistance with traffic control and the Fishers Police Department’s drone support at the scene.

Congratulations to Our 2025 Officer of the Year, Detective Tracy Jones Last month, we celebrated our 2025 awards and proudly honored Detective Tracy Jones as our Officer of the Year. Detective Jones is an exceptional investigator who has made an impact not only within the Fishers Police Department but also among our partner agencies throughout the county. She is committed to investigating sex crimes and pursuing justice for victims, particularly children. Year after year, Detective Jones has been recognized by the Cherish Center for her tireless work protecting children and ensuring they receive justice. In 2025 alone, she worked 49 Cherish cases, the most in the county. But her work goes far beyond the pursuit of justice. Detective Jones is dedicated to making sure the children she serves are cared for both physically and emotionally. The work she does requires patience, empathy, exceptional investigative skills, and an unwavering commitment to seeing cases through to the very end. Over the course of her career, she has consistently demonstrated the very best that law enforcement can offer. Please join us in congratulating Detective Tracy Jones, our 2025 Officer of the Year, on this well-deserved recognition. Thank you for your compassion, dedication, and steadfast commitment to protecting our community’s most vulnerable.
