Perhaps my definition of a zombie fish and yours are not the same. Fish that looks like this due to trauma compression on account of trawl nets ≠ zombie fish. Zombie fish = post spawn living dead fish And thank you for the net share. Was that due to them being smashed to a pulp in the nets? Or something else? TY in advance. 🙏

Fisheries: Take a good look at these screenshots. A really, REALLY good look. 👀 👇 These screenshots are of are Alaskan King Salmon. These AK King Salmon were caught by trawlers in Kodiak — as bycatch. These salmon represent the quality of fish sent to villages as a benevolent gesture (likely via the SeaShare program) and consolation prize / peace offering / virtue signaling grift covering for the fact that some SALMON DEPENDENT Alaskans can no longer fish at all. Why? ‼️Because there are NO FISH TO CATCH in the rivers they live on. Trawl, is part of the reason. The screenshot fish? • This fish is 100% damaged. • It is 100% bruised. • It is 100% smashed. • It is 100% compression trauma. By Alaskan standards: ☢️ This fish is an insult. ☢️ This fish is not “gift-able.” ☢️ This fish is a sign of disrespect, dishonor, and contempt. ☢️ This fish is NOT edible. ☢️ This fish is dog food … and poor quality dog food at that. 👉This fish is the reason so much of the pollock caught in trawler nets is ONLY FIT FOR BECOMING FAKE CRAB MEAT. (aka. Surimi すりみ) “They”cannot use fish like this for selling in shops because it gets pulverized in dragger nets. This is why fish sticks, fish fillets burgers, and fast food fish nuggets taste awful and have a mushy, smooshy texture. You cannot scoop millions of fish into Eiffel Tower size nets without the fish becoming damaged- like the fish in those screenshots. 😡 This fish is the ultimate trawl industry virtue signaling grift. —— Meanwhile, Jeff Lanfield of the @alaskalandmine decided to start posting about the Alaska trawl issue and call the anti-trawl Alaskans (all 74% of us) “screeching lunatics”. In a state with the LARGEST percentage of the population who has fishing licenses nationwide— by far. 🤨 Jeff, while living here and making his money off of Alaska’s gossip, is basically saying: Alaskans -who have fished and hunted this land most of their lives- are too incompetent, UNQUALIFIED, and UNDEREDUCATED to raise objections over an industry that is KNOWN for its pillage and plunder practices— at scale, globally. Jeff is framing the Alaska Pollock Assn as the good guys and the heroes of the Alaska fish wars story. Jeff is saying Alaskans are ignoring the ‘real stats’ and are essentially the protest-everything-faux-outrage-liberal-white-women machine of the Alaska fishing community. Jeff does not KNOW Alaska or Alaskans. The fish were here before oil. Before the PFD. And before statehood. The identity of Alaska IS fish. Jeff needs to stop talking about Alaska fish issues and stick to Juneau tabloid gossip. That is his wheelhouse, not AK fisheries issues. See Jeff. Jeff is not pro-Alaska. Jeff is pro-trawl. Jeff needs to keep his pro-trawl hands to himself, away from a keyboard, and especially away from Alaska’s fish. Receipts in 🧵 1/2

@FishinRednecks I’ve had my share of low-effort tamales over the years, so I understand the complaint. But I also have an unfair ancestral advantage on my mother’s side: the women in my family know how to make tamales properly.

Calling tamales overrated after describing bad tamales is like declaring music overrated because you heard a bad radio station.
@pmurany@PMurany

@JeremyTTUsports @RichOToole I've eaten about a million tamales in my life...I have never gotten excited over any of them. They were mostly okay, but nothing special and certainly not worth the enthusiasm some people seem to have for them-cornmeal and a little bit of meat wrapped in a tasteless husk. Meh...

Catching fish on jigs or flys you tied has to be on of the most rewarding things a fisherman can experience .

@KSJ_Kreative Just this today for the contest. My reach tanks every time I do an Ai video with Grok Imagine though, so I only do them periodically.

Felt good putting my father in law on his first walleye. Half decent size. No better feeling than teaching an old dog new tricks.

Living in the high desert area has its advantages, and dont get me wrong I love it. Ill mostly likely never move. But buying this place up in the mountains as a getaway for my kids has to be one of the smartest decisions ive ever made. Downfall is the 4 hour drive from the house.
