@RGILL_Teach Yes, using the schools behaviour policy. If they are not participating then they are not following your instructions so sanction with the next stage in behaviour policy. But make it clear how students can ask for help first so that you know if it is opting out or stuck.

@HerrKeuner1948 @Aayush_Astro @Hookean1 That's just on probability of interaction taking place. Want being quite as nuanced as that with previous. Was just saying that can ionise as well as excite.
English

@HerrKeuner1948 @Aayush_Astro @Hookean1 Or have enough energy to ionise the electron rather than just excite. Works the same way in the end. X ray was absorbed.
English

@BenyohaiPhysics Some of those error bars are huge! Relative to values anyway.
English

@SarahCorfield5 @AhmedKhattabUK @GreenshawTrust That takes planned management initially. Perhaps considering an additional temporary space such as a sports hall?
English

My trust @GreenshawTrust is the second highest performing medium to large sized trust in the country.
We don't mark books.
We centralise detentions.
We are observed fortnightly with great feedback.
Behaviour system is binary.
It all works!

English

@MrARobbins @AhmedKhattabUK From next summer I believe separate science and a separate MFL related measure are coming in.
English

@AhmedKhattabUK I think I read somewhere the crazy idea of making the percentage of students doing triple to be a new inspection measure. Sounds bonkers but might change the landscape
English

@RGILL_Teach Again check but I get this. Known value is more like 2260 so I may have missed something but it's the right order.

English

@RGILL_Teach 15 needs a bit more work than 14 but would be a good challenge for a student aiming for grade 8/9.
English

@RGILL_Teach 14 is fine. It's on the harder end but everything needed is GCSE standard. It would only be on HT paper.
English

@Neal_UK @AhmedKhattabUK But tracker will go up in the winter with increased costs. For me I just schedule my car and house battery to charge in the cheap period and barely draw any peak rate electricity. Works out cheaper than tracker.
English

@AhmedKhattabUK Or use a tracker tariff where daily price is based on wholesale. Less than 20p/kWh electricity without the need to shift to off-peak times. Smart meter well worth it for these types of tariff.
English

@AhmedKhattabUK My tariff is octopus go. It uses 30 min data from my smart meter to know exactly when energy is being used. This allows a split rate tariff that means they can offer cheap energy when the grid is cleanest. So I charge my car which is my biggest use.
English

@AhmedKhattabUK Because I have 9p overnight and 90% of my usage is in that time. Smart meters are worth it.
English

@MsDowdSci @Steve42089771 That would require lots of sets though. Or setting across a whole year group I guess?
English

@Steve42089771 I said no, but what I mean is yes at top and bottom and mixed in between. Often allows you to give those that needs the most 1 to 1 support a smaller class.
English

@daveteachingsci @ShakinthatChalk Every full time member of staff and as many PT as possible get at least 1 PPA in P1 or p5 every week.
English

@FishwickDr @ShakinthatChalk Is that *if* your PPA happens to be P1 or P5, or is it systematically arranged as those times?
English

@ShakinthatChalk @daveteachingsci Opportunity to drop your own kids off or pick them up is quite nice.
But I thought this was a discussion around issues of fire alarms which can be managed and allow staff to be off site.
English

@FishwickDr @daveteachingsci P1 or P5 is just a convenience thing isn’t it? Going home early or getting later.
English

@JFBUS10 @JoeAmbroseGLT @ShakinthatChalk In a secondary there will be enough adults that don't have tutor groups to register tutor groups without a tutor. If there is a good routine of where to go then it can be done fine.
English

@JoeAmbroseGLT @ShakinthatChalk If there is a fire could class teacher not register classes instead of tutors.
English

@daveteachingsci @ShakinthatChalk Works at ours quite well. Have had P1 or p5 PPA as flex opportunity to not be on site for 2 years. Have had fire drills and unannounced fire alarms that have been absolutely fine with staff out. Others take the register.
English

@ShakinthatChalk I don't think it's a practical suggestion for secondaries
