@fishandfreckles I definitely link to this on our LMS and go through the structure on syllabus day. I tell them I do not care about our shared humanity, but some people do @lportwoodstacer/how-to-email-your-professor-without-being-annoying-af-cf64ae0e4087" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">medium.com/@lportwoodstac

@fishandfreckles If it matters (which it does), teach the expectations. I've found students believe me when I tell them, "Other people won't say it, but they're judging your terrible emails. I'm at least kind enough to tell you how to fix it"

I am so concerned about the use of plastic grass that if anyone on here is considering using it I will give you alternative advice ( free )as to how to landscape without it. If I can stop one square meter being layed it's worth the effort.

Wrapping up intro biology lab research presentations in style. Hand knitted and designed- every major phyla covered in the class ... and a few prokaryotes and viruses because the microbiologist in my department insisted 😊 I'm sure @markowenmartin would approve of the decision

Dee Kent, then 77, was on her way from Valley, Alabama, to a doc's appt. in Opelika when she was pulled over. Police cuffed & arrested her for failure to pay a $141 trash bill. She said her husband had recently died, and she sometimes forgets to pay. (1) bit.ly/3utTdDq

Recently read a quote that shook me to my core: "you only have a slightly better chance of becoming a tenure track professor as a professional athlete or rock star, and the money isn’t nearly as good" I know this already, right? But still is scary seeing it laid out like this!
