We had a fantastic day with @FitzalanHistDep. The students were engaged and thanks to Mr Smith for facilitating the visit. Thanks to our incredible volunteers and to my fellow coordinators Anna, Meri and Kelly for being absolute stars! It was nice to safely be back face to face.

On Holocaust Memorial Day we remember those who died and also those who have died in other genocides. We must remember so that it doesn't happen again #LightTheDarkness

Year 7 have been learning about the Neolithic period as part of our newly designed lessons for the Curriculum for Wales. They have been making Neolithic Grooved Ware pots and thinking about how this development was a big turning point in history. These pupils are from 7FGI.

There were more than 90 maritime casualties from #Grangetown in #WW1 and at least 108 in #WW2. Remembering all Merchant Navy and RN losses from Cardiff at the Cardiff Bay memorial on Saturday, just before 11 #RemembranceDay2021

Yesterday, we held a remembrance event to include the two minute silence at 11am. The event was live streamed to every class, so that the whole school could take part in remembering those who sacrificed so much.

On the night of 9th–10th November 1938, Jewish communities across Germany and Austria were attacked in an event known as Kristallnacht. Rioters destroyed or damaged 267 synagogues, 7000 Jewish businesses, and 30,000 Jewish men were arrested and sent to concentration camps.

Today is #TrafalgarDay, a highly important day in the Royal Navy Calendar as it is the anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar which defined the Age of Sail and which sealed British dominion of the seas for a hundred years. royalnavy.mod.uk/trafalgarday

Headteacher’s High Tea is back! So glad that we can celebrate with our amazing pupils and their families once again.

We had a fantastic day with a group of Year 7s visiting Chepstow Castle and Raglan Castle today. Lots of fun was had exploring the castles, investigating and hearing stories about the past. Photographs to follow.
