𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝟱 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 | 𝗦𝗶𝘅-𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲 The fifth week continued to build on the programme’s objective of developing well-rounded policy professionals through a blend of conceptual understanding and practical exposure. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗱: 1. Rules of Business by Mr. Inayat Shah 2. Communication Skills Development by Dr. Fizzah Khalid Butt (@Fizzscreams) 3. Understanding Climate Change and its Implications for Public Policy by Dr. Muhammad Faisal (@DrMFaisal_Ali) These sessions emphasized the importance of institutional procedures, effective communication in professional settings, and the growing significance of climate-responsive policy-making. As part of experiential learning, young officials also visited Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) (@PBSofficialpak) where they received a comprehensive overview of Pakistan’s statistical system. The visit covered: i) National Accounts and GDP Estimation ii) Major Surveys (HEIS, PSLM, LFS, Census) iii) Price Statistics and Data Dissemination This exposure provided valuable insights into how data is generated, analyzed, and utilized to inform evidence-based policy-making and national planning. The week reinforced the critical link between governance frameworks, communication effectiveness, and data-driven decision-making in a public sector. @nadeemjavaid75, @betterpakistan, @PlanComPakistan, @GovtofPakistan, @FaheemJehangir #PIDE #TrainingProgram #PolicyTraining #CapacityBuilding

At PIDE Seminar, moderated by Dr. Nadeem Javaid (SI) (@nadeemjavaid75) (Vice Chancellor, PIDE), it was highlighted that natural resources have shaped the rise and fall of nations, yet the key question remains: why do some countries turn resource wealth into prosperity while others struggle? Dr. Saleem H. Ali (@saleem_ali), the speaker, emphasised that mineral wealth must be supported by transparency, strategic planning, and local reinvestment. He further highlighted that sustainable outcomes depend on strong institutions and informed policy choices, not just resource availability. The session emphasised that Pakistan must look beyond conventional extraction. As Pakistan's future depends on its ability to effectively govern, invest, and build institutions around its mineral wealth to achieve comparative advantage. 👉🏼 Watch Recording: youtu.be/u8z6madWwXU @betterpakistan, @PlanComPakistan, @GovtofPakistan, @FaheemJehangir, @Fizzscreams #PIDE #Minerals #EconomicDevelopment #PIDEseminar
