During a highly productive and candid dialogue with the Kashmiri community delegation in New York, I reaffirmed Pakistan’s absolute commitment to the prosperity, rights, and dignity of Azad Jammu & Kashmir. We believe that every single voice matters because listening is the true foundation of democracy. Lasting solutions are only built through dialogue, consultation, and consensus, and we will continue to strengthen peace through strong constitutional and democratic institutions." #NewYorkDialogue #AzadKashmir #CommunityEngagement #Diplomacy #HumanRights #MovingForward

Upon arrival in NewYork, I was delighted to join the American Pakistani Advocacy Group Dinner in New York, where I received a warm welcome from Mr. Ali Rashid, Founder and President, alongside distinguished community leaders, public representatives, and friends of Pakistan. The evening provided an excellent opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions with Mr. John Kaiman, Chief of Staff to Congressman Tom Suozzi, on expanding Pakistan–U.S. cooperation in trade, investment, innovation, education, and people-to-people ties. I was encouraged by his appreciation of URAAN Pakistan's 5Es Framework, recognizing it as a comprehensive roadmap for Pakistan's long-term economic transformation. I also appreciated the gracious welcome extended by Assemblyman Steven Raga and was deeply honoured to receive a New York State Assembly Citation, presented on behalf of Assemblyman Nader J. Sayegh, in recognition of my public service. I accept this honour with humility as a tribute to Pakistan and to our collective efforts toward national development. In my remarks, I shared Pakistan's vision for sustainable economic growth, policy continuity, and stronger global partnerships. I emphasized that the future of Pakistan–U.S. relations lies in expanding economic cooperation, fostering innovation, and strengthening the enduring bonds between our people. The evening concluded with renewed friendships, deeper partnerships, and a shared commitment to building a stronger relationship between Pakistan and the United States for the benefit of both nations. #Pakistan #USA #NewYork #PakistanUSRelations #EconomicDiplomacy #URAANPakistan #EconomicTransformation #Innovation #Trade #Investment #PublicService #PakistaniDiaspora #GlobalPartnerships #StrongerPakistan #FutureReadyPakistan

A productive meeting with the leadership of @AsiaPolicy reaffirmed the value of ideas in shaping a more peaceful, prosperous and interconnected world. I appreciated ASPI's role in advancing forward-looking socioeconomic dialogue across the region. I emphasized that rebuilding strong Pakistan–US academic and policy linkages is essential. Reviving scholarly engagement and fostering partnerships between ASPI and Pakistan's research institutions can help generate practical ideas, deepen mutual understanding, and strengthen cooperation between our governments, businesses and people for shared prosperity.

Ahsan Iqbal@betterpakistan·

Ahsan Iqbal@betterpakistan·
Pleased to meet the Minister for International Development of Norway in New York. Our discussions focused on strengthening Pakistan–Norway cooperation in climate resilience, sustainable development and human capital. I underscored that while Pakistan contributes less than 1% to global greenhouse gas emissions, it remains among the countries most vulnerable to climate change. The devastating floods have set back our progress towards the SDGs, reinforcing the need for a dedicated global financing mechanism to support climate-vulnerable nations. We also explored opportunities for collaboration in the blue economy, learning from Norway's world-leading experience, and discussed sharing best practices to strengthen Pakistan's education system and invest in early childhood development. I welcome Norway's commitment to deepen our partnership and the Minister's intention to visit Pakistan. #Pakistan #Norway #ClimateAction #HumanDevelopment #SDGs

At #HLPF2026, I reaffirmed Pakistan's steadfast commitment to the #SDGs through #UraanPakistan—our roadmap for inclusive growth, climate resilience, clean energy, and shared prosperity. I also underscored that respect for international law and treaty obligations is indispensable for sustainable development. The unilateral and unlawful suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty threatens the water security and livelihoods of 240 million Pakistanis and undermines confidence in rules-based cooperation. The world must match national ambition with collective action, climate justice, and a more equitable global financial system. Listen to the full speech below.
