@APIenergy Translation: we got filthy rich from polluting the planet but we want even more. So we bought a Congress and a president that will remove all barriers to us expanding our reign of terror.

"A lot of times these policy changes, they start as small, little kernels, they're seeds, and then they grow into giant oak trees. I think that's what permitting reform could be if we get this right this year in this Congress." - Mike Sommers, President & CEO, American Petroleum Institute
Richard Meyer@RichardMeyerDC

Quotes I heard at CERAWeek Day 2: "We cannot think about future energy systems being energy systems that are, in essence, built for perfection. They need to be built for resilience. They need to be able to withstand failure." - Wael Sawan, CEO, Shell "It's not just good enough to talk about low-carbon solutions. They need to be profitable, and they need to be scalable." - Wael Sawan, CEO, Shell "If there's one thing I found over the years in meeting and interacting with extraordinarily successful people in every walk of life, if there's one trait they have in common, it's curiosity. And so I think, if we think about AI, it is the next great generator of curiosity." - Brad Smith, President, Microsoft "The innovation curve always accelerates earlier and faster than the diffusion. If you ask what is the biggest obstacle to the adoption of new technology, it's not just electricity and data centers and better products, it's people." - Brad Smith, President, Microsoft "So right now, using available capacity slack in the system, renewables are the quickest to market, solar, storage, onshore wind, and then a ton of gas. It's gas, gas, gas." - George Bilicic, Managing Director, Lazard "The world does not need America to be wobbly. The world needs America to be straight, strong, consistent, fair." - Mary Landrieu, former U.S. Senator "The highest electricity prices in the country are in California, or they're in the Northeast. And guess what? The Northeast has been against natural gas and pipelines." - Jarrod Agen, National Energy Dominance Council "A lot of times these policy changes, they start as small, little kernels, they're seeds, and then they grow into giant oak trees. I think that's what permitting reform could be if we get this right this year in this Congress." - Mike Sommers, President & CEO, American Petroleum Institute "The great risk is not that AI will replace people, but that organizations overestimate the automation and underestimate the importance of people." - Renata Baruzzi, Chief Digital Transformation Officer, Petrobras "Fear factor is overhyped. AI is not the risk, poor integration of AI is." — Rakesh Jaggi, SLB "If somebody is telling you that this is simple to do, they are either selling you general-purpose AI tools, or they do not understand the complexity of what we do in our industry. Close enough is never good enough. It can actually be a disaster." - Rakesh Jaggi, SLB "We talk about AI as a co-pilot, not as a pilot, because particularly in the energy sector, oil and gas and power utilities, where you're moving molecules and electrons around, if you get it wrong, people get killed, and that's not okay." - Darryl Willis, Corporate Vice President, Microsoft Energy "It took two weeks to plan a wellhead in onshore Argentina. They're doing it in a day now." - Darryl Willis, Corporate Vice President, Microsoft Energy "There was someone straight out of college, she was two weeks out of college, running a chemical facility that was massive. And normally you'd see somebody with 20, 30 years of experience sitting in that seat." - Jim Masso, Honeywell

@APIenergy @DeptofWar Now your industry can destroy life on this planet with no constraints. You must be lifting champagne glasses in your C-suites and mega-mansions. A Pyrrhic victory.

TRUE: Starting January 1, all new homes built in New York must be all electric. ALSO TRUE: In many areas across New York, electric utilities are refusing to hook up new homes or subdivisions because the grid lacks capacity to supply them.

@APIenergy Exporting more natural gas will increase the cost of gas for Americans. And you know that. But it will make member corporations richer, so the hell with working Americans.

@RepJackKimble Are you really a member of Congress? How long have you lived in the US? Jury deliberations are ALWAYS carried out behind closed doors. Give me just one example when that hasn’t been true.

BREAKING: Donald Trump was not even allowed to be in the jury deliberations! If they were so sure that he received a fair trial, why did they have the jury meet in secrecy like in a third world country. I've never heard of this happening in the United States before.

Whenever enviros tell this Admin to jump, the only question the WH asks is "How high? When they get their Dem sycophants in Congress and the MSM demanding a #ClimateEmergency be declared, start paying attention. They just also happened to put in writing what a climate emergency declaration means for oil and gas production in the U.S. Look at #1, #2 and #3 from this paper from the Center for Biological Diversity's on declaring a climate emergency and tell us they haven't been thinking this through already.

@GovKathyHochul It seems decidedly arrogant to believe… 1- that we have anything to do with Climate Change or even apprehend its Causes & Function to any Degree, and 2- that we as Human Beings can do anything whatsoever to stop it in its Course. The Hubris is staggering.
