I just read a Linkedin post from a recruiter giving advice to job seekers on how to approach interviews and ending it with a Hunger Games quote. I guess that's what the games industry job market is like now.

hey all, I’ve been laid off from my communications position with Prytania (it’s my third mass layoff!). I’ll do a proper twitter thread about job hunting when I’m over the shock, but I’m back on that 60-day H1B visa countdown before needing to leave the country.

@MillsTwitch It's a blood bath. What might have started as a somewhat needed 'correction' of over investment during the Covid bubble is now just pure madness. Fear and greed driven. Shortsighted. Sharks saw blood in the water and went straight for it, for the sake of margins.

@Flaoua The 'correction' as people are calling it has been one of the most gutting things to watch, especially with some of the companies still showing record profit.

Deus Ex got canceled. This other massive game I was both acting and directing on got canceled and a third game I was acting and directing on got reworked and now starting from scratch, whole new team. The video game world is a disaster zone right now.
