It’s easy to be disheartened by an increasingly stressed world and the slow progress on climate matters. But as this new year starts, let’s also celebrate some positive strides in the energy sector. Let's make the commitments a reality! flareintel.com/insights/new-y…

Our CEO @markjondavis sat down with Ed Crooks on his podcast "The Energy Gang" at COP and we discussed all things flaring and methane. Was a fun a wide-ranging discussion! Thanks, Ed! art19.com/shows/the-ener…

Laughter brings great health benefits. But it also helps to make connections, bridge barriers and build trust. Solving climate change will need more "bridges" to be built (it's not just about investment, policy and technology linkedin.com/feed/update/ur…

Delighted to see US President Biden support our work: "We also we'll also work with Egypt to capture nearly 4 billion cubic meters of natural gas, which Egypt currently flares, vents, or leaks from its oil and gas operations" #cop27 in #egyptlnkd.in/e9MUiYmK

@jakluge Janis. Where was this figure from? We are all over this topic but didn't see this being published. Have you see flareintel.com?

Very interesting: Systematic analysis of satellite data shows NO significantly increased #flaring by #Gazprom this year, indicating flexible production capacities (and showing the limits of the anecdotal evidence I saw a few weeks ago).

Despite a 39% reduction, Gazprom burned less gas this year than in 2021. It likely means it is better prepared to keep gas underground than thought initially. Russia Is Keeping Unsold Gas Underground Rather Than Burning It Off - Bloomberg bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

The World Bank's Global Gas Flaring Tracker is the only global and independent indicator of routine gas flaring. The estimates allow us to monitor global flaring levels and track progress toward our goal of Zero Routine Flaring by 2030. worldbank.org/en/programs/ga…

Great quite re #Gastech2022 from OGCI Chair Bjorn Otto: I'm a bit surprised [by the focus at GasTech} on security of supply. Short term focus cannot take centre stage. If we only look for short term solutions, we are going to fail again.

See our Op Ed in the FT out today on gas flaring - which amounts to $50 billion of lost revenue, 1 billion CO2-e tonnes of GHG and 143 BCM of gas (that's 90% of Europe's imports from Russia). #myft:notification:instant-email:content" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">ft.com/content/f66bac… #gasflaring @AssaadRazzouk

The World Bank’s “2022 Global Gas Flaring Tracker Report” should have been headline news: it exposes how we are being inexorably pushed into the climate horrors abyss because of, frankly, incomprehensible levels of wanton destruction by the oil & gas industry THREAD (1/11)

Gas flaring causes 400 million tons of CO2 equivalent emissions each year. Find out which countries are leading on the elimination of this polluting and wasteful practice in our latest gas flaring data report: wrld.bg/Frz250J0906

Unfortunately those savings were offset by + gas flaring in other countries (Iran, Libya, Mexico mostly). And not all of the tech& practices deployed in US shale patch can be transferred easily to other gas provinces. US still 4th biggest gas flarer after Russia, Iran, Iraq 🔥

Fun fact: the US reduced gas flaring more than any other country last year (3.1 bcm) and, in absence of big production increases, those saved molecules helped underpin massive recent increases in LNG exports Via @FlareIntel
