@WatchMyReview @KesSmith01 @LeafsLose1967 @PuckReportNHL I’m of the mindset that the qualifying rounds still count as the playoffs since other sports and leagues have done similar tournaments in the past. There’s no rule saying that everyone has to follow a singular format all the time.

I feel that trying to use Wikipedia as the source to back up a claim involving the 2020 NHL playoffs is like saying that the MLB division series is still the first round today despite the change in format. If the league counts the play-in as part of the playoffs, then it counts.

@LeafsLose1967 @PuckReportNHL 2020 didn’t follow a traditional playoff format due to certain things, but rather the top 4 of the respective conference got a first round bye and played round robin. 5 through 12 played a best of 5 first round, so yes Leafs got in.
