John Tortorella declined to speak with the media after advancing to the Western Conference finals. The Golden Knights also didn’t open the dressing room after the game. They brought 1 player into a side room to speak, along with the two who spoke at the podium. I’ve been covering the NHL for nine years and never seen either of those happen once.

I think this is great for hockey. No one gives a shit about the media availability or what anyone has to say, they all just say generic jargon anyways. It’s only reporters freaking out bc they can’t twist everything into a story and get clicks out of it

As Edna said 5 years ago, the issue was not Mitch OR Auston OR Willy. The issue was the weird kink for useless grinders and "SNOT" and not acquiring GOALS at the deadline to support the core 4. And Edna ALWAYS gets responses that they shouldn't need support. WHAT???? McDavid and Draisaitl are legendary playoff performers and yet Oilers still added far more support to them than Leafs did. Every Leaf loss was due to lack of goals. Then, once season ends no one mentioned goals and it was always about getting tougher. MASSIVE mistake. And to counter another silly argument that will come up: "SKILL" can definitely be cheaper than our overpaid, useless grinders. Complete untrue myth that Leafs didn't have "Cap". The leafs added EXACTLY who fans/media screamed for.

Argument before 2021 cup finals: "No 10 million player has ever made the finals". Price at 10.5 makes the finals. Up until 2023 finals ends: "No 10 million player has ever won the cup". Eichel at 10 million wins the cup. After 2023: "No player making 10 million and a penny has ever won the cup".
