@ShamashAran Instead of being realistic about it most folks tend to defend as if they were as important as critical jobs.

@ShamashAran It’s interesting to compare those who have had jobs that matter (infrastructure, 1st responder, etc), to those that “don’t matter” or matter less (retail, sales, etc). It’s hard to find a sense of purpose in jobs that don’t matter or matter less.

I will never not find it fascinating that some of the most brazen hostility toward legal immigrants comes from children of immigrants or from immigrants themselves. There's a real tradition of pulling the ladder up right after you finish climbing it. It is so strange.
