Time for some #Physics arts and crafts (I love my job!). Making models to figure out how to improve our #iontrap exhibit. Here are 4 variations photographed next to real thing at #Technorama. Which one do you like the best?

@Orad This is a great guide, thanks a lot! If you ever had to create a python package, I would be interested in how you approached it.

I've been slowly working on a major update to my Python tutorial document in my spare time. Is there anything you'd like to see elaborated on in there? Please RT for visibility 😁 Here's a link again for those of you that need a refresher: reshef.ca/python-tutorial

This is a unique opportunity to see what’s at the heart of an ion trap quantum processor: electrically trapped individual ions inside an ultrahigh vacuum chamber - not just on a computer screen, but with your naked eye through a microscope objective! @ETHQuantumCntr @ETH_physics

Can one see individual atoms with the naked eye? On 4 & 5 September the Zurich science days #Scientifica take place, this time on how nature inspires research. @NCCR_QSIT will present 3 hands-on experiments—including one that lets you see single atoms. scientifica.ch/ausstellungen/…

Made it this long without doing such a big puzzle. Remarkable how much it feels like starting to work in a new field: countless pieces of info, trying to sort them, then link them, the occasional piece that makes sense of several areas.

@Orad @LundeenOttawa Hi @Orad. I am a little late to the party with a question: would this be easier to make for narrow waveband? I see some potential to reduce optical setup sizes, like eliminating the 10-15 cm space to the focus of a lens. How feasible is this?

In our latest, we demonstrate a “spaceplate,” a device that can shrink imaging systems. This is the counterpart to the lens and it’s wild that we’ve come so far without one! So proud of this idea. Thanks for the great collaboration @LundeenOttawa. Stay tuned for more! #photonics
