@zimlive A man would do and say anything to justify why he has run away from his family, now staying with a small house.

📹 Gift Konjana ran for MP as an MDC candidate in 2018 and won, but he could not take up his seat after ZEC declared in favour of Zanu PF’s Dexter Nduna. Then, last year, he defected to Zanu PF. Zanu PF would field him as its council candidate for the February 21, 2026, Ward 1 by-election in Chegutu. But two days before the election, Konjana left home saying he was going to his election command centre. He never arrived, and he went on to win in absentia. His family declared him missing.
Unexpectedly, today, an unsigned statement was circulated alongside a video of him in a moving vehicle in which Konjana declares that he is alive but will not be taking up his council seat.
The statement strongly hints at being kidnapped. He refers to “an ordeal” and being in “darkness, isolated and facing the unknown” and a “final escape.”
There were “several attempts on my life and limb,” he writes, crediting his survival on people’s prayers.

#PostCabinetBrief
Cabinet approved the review of selected and time‑bound fuel taxes to contain inflationary pressures and safeguard consumer welfare, and considered increasing ethanol blending of petrol from the current E5 to E20 level to reduce the pump price of petrol.

The only way for government to cushion citizens from the fuel price hike pain is to cut back on government taxes and levies.
Based on the costs mechanism in place:
•Everyone should tighten their belts, government included.
•Cut back on taxes and levies. If this happens, fuel can go down to under $2 per litre for both diesel and petrol.
•Petrol would be far much cheaper if it wasn’t blended. It makes little sense under the current global energy environment for all petrol vehicle drivers to carry the Green Fuels burden. Green Fuels is adding value to no one except Billy Rautenbach.

Ethanol is not a product of Crude Oil. It doesn't pass through the Strait of Hormuz.Rather it's a Waste Product of Sugar production at Chiredzi. Somebody explain why it should cost us $1.10 per litre & why it has to be forced on us?

This explanation about “low quality tobacco” is just an attempt to shift blame to farmers.
We are talking about the same tobacco, the same grades, from the same farmers that were fetching around $3–$4/kg last season, and suddenly the same product is being pushed down to $1/kg. That’s not a quality issue, that’s a pricing problem.
The 2026 market was already known in 2025 before farmers even planted. Contractors recruited farmers, financed them, and even set higher production targets than the 2025 season. Everyone in the industry knows tobacco markets are planned before planting, there are no surprises at the selling floor.
So blaming farmers for “low quality” now is simply avoiding the real question:
Why contract more farmers and push for higher production if the market was supposedly weak?
Farmers produced the crop they were contracted and encouraged to grow, and now they are being told the same tobacco is suddenly worth a fraction of what it was last year.
That narrative doesn’t add up.
