Core childhood memory this. The instinct to jab him with the left rather than swing a big right is 👌🏻

That’s because a lot of the seats Labour holds were not up for election. Imagine they had been. Doh!

🚨 NEW: A preview of Keir Starmer's speech tomorrow as he tries to convince Labour MPs to keep him as PM
"To meet the challenges that our country faces, incremental change won't cut it. On growth, defence, Europe, energy - we need a bigger response than we anticipated in 2024 because these are not ordinary times.
"Strength through fairness. It’s a core Labour argument. And you will see those values writ large in the King’s Speech, and you will see hope, urgency and exactly whose side we are on.
"People need hope. We will face up to the big challenges and we will make the big arguments: the Labour case that only Labour values and Labour policies can ensure our country not only weathers these storms, but emerges stronger and fairer.
"This Labour Government will be defined by rebuilding our relationship and by putting Britain at the heart of Europe, so that we are stronger on the economy, on trade, on defence, you name it. Because standing shoulder to shoulder with the countries that most share our interests, our values, and our enemies - that is the right choice for Britain. That is the Labour choice"

@anon_opin Civil servant here, who normally works in the private sector. You could get rid of 2/3rds of the CS and get far better outcomes at vastly lower cost. WFH is only an issue due to people taking the piss, which wouldn't be an issue if outcomes were measured rather than attendance.

@MelJStride @Conservatives Sorry @MelJStride you're wrong. People can't get on the ladder because houses are more expensive than they used to be compared to wages. If you fix either wages, or the maximum amount people can borrow based on salary - then you've addressed a problem.
English

Far too many young people cannot get on the housing ladder because of stamp duty.
A future @Conservatives government will ABOLISH Stamp Duty on primary residences.
Free up the housing market, increase supply and boost the economy.
