A few weeks ago, I got the chance to meet Steven Bartlett from The Diary of a CEO for my husband’s podcast recording. Meeting Steven and shaking his hand somehow felt familiar. After he left the room to prepare, I paused and thought about it. Then it clicked. I realized how much I already knew about him from watching so many of his podcasts, and how in every single one, he finds a way to connect with the guest or with what the guest is saying. He is open, authentic, and raw. He shares bits and pieces of his life, his childhood, his upbringing, and his relationships, whether with his mother, his girlfriend, his friends, employees, or business partners. I believe that’s what makes him such a great interviewer. He comes in with curiosity and openness, ready to take in the information, analyze it, push back a little if he’s not fully convinced, and then connect at a human level. He takes what the guest shares and relates it to his own experience, whether in business or in a more personal way. Then I thought about his book, The Diary of a CEO: 33 Laws of Business & Life. It’s the result of hundreds and hundreds of interviews where he sits down with a wide range of people, from health experts to business leaders, politicians, relationship experts, lawyers, scientists, and more. His mind has absorbed so much of this over time, it’s no surprise the book is so strong. Which brings me to a proud wife moment. During the podcast with my husband, Steven mentioned how knowledgeable Pierre is. He said this was one of the rare interviews where a politician actually answered the questions, and that he truly enjoyed the conversation. This is coming from someone who has interviewed hundreds, if not thousands, of people, many with impressive careers and deep expertise. Because that’s what happens when people really listen to Pierre. His depth of knowledge about our country and how the world works. He is thoughtful, intelligent, but above all, principled. As Steven pointed out, Pierre has stood for the same ideas and values since the letter he wrote for the “If I Were Prime Minister” contest. So here’s the thing. We go forward. We keep moving. We keep fighting. Because we believe deeply in what we stand for, with principle and conviction. And let me tell you, my husband has rock solid support at home. This lady is not for turning. 💁🏻‍♀️

It remains an extreme decision to take this stance towards the U.S. due to one president. It makes no sense.

Muslim Association of Canada (MAC)
The Muslim Association of Canada (MAC) has released a statement condemning Israel’s closure of Masjid Al-Aqsa in occupied Jerusalem and the ongoing restrictions preventing Muslim worshippers from accessing this sacred site. MAC is calling on the Government of Canada to take a clear and principled stance in support of religious freedom and the protection of Masjid Al-Aqsa. The statement also raises concern over recent actions that threaten the sanctity of the site. Masjid Al-Aqsa holds a sacred place in the hearts of Muslims worldwide, and ensuring access to places of worship remains a fundamental pillar of religious freedom and human dignity. The amazing Ottawa Hospital is losing 400 staff due to underfunding by Ontario. Just to be clear, with today’s healthcare pressures, the Ottawa Hospital should be announcing adding 400 staff. This is so seriously wrong in every way possible. ctvnews.ca/ottawa/article…

Our victory at Vimy should fill all Canadians with pride. Sadly, the post-nationalists believe that we should be ashamed of the Canada that achieved this. We must renew national pride in the courage, valour, and audacity of the tough people who built this country, and died in its defence.
Canadian Army@CanadianArmy

On this day 109 years ago nearly 100,000 Canadians fought together at Vimy Ridge in one of the First World War’s defining battles. Today, the Vimy Memorial stands at Hill 145 in remembrance of their courage, sacrifice, and the legacy left behind. #CanadaRemembers

These are real people not bots and their unhinged takes are sadly mainstream thinking within the CPC and the conservative moment. The party and its supporters consistently misread their opponent whether it's Trudeau or Carney. They spent years trying to paint Trudeau as unserious or unintelligent, only for him to win three elections. Like him or not, Trudeau's been one of the most consequential prime ministers in recent history, with a lasting imprint on the country, much like his father. They’re repeating the same mistake with Carney, dismissing him as a fool and alleging corruption instead of grappling with what actually makes him politically formidable. Spoiler alert: it's not Trump.
Aristarchus of Samos@AristoSamos

@rupasubramanya Any reasonable person, particularly one like you Rupa that is invested in having a competitive centre-right party in Canada, could easily diagnose the problem. It is PP. He isn’t ready for the role. Canadians know it. Especially after Trudeau. The party is a mess.
