They decided to be defensive after they disrespected me, that is not my fault. They did not make boundaries clear and gave me a unprofessional (+ bullshit) response that I didn't need I responded to give them closure and to state that I was going to no longer interact with them.

it is a detachment of belonging for something is not HARMFUL IN ANY WAY. That is why race discrimination is a problem, they aren't hurting anyone else just for existing. Detaching someone that is a part of a community IS discrimination if they didn't do anything wrong to such.
