@NastyVeganHQ Thank goodness! I was so worried. I cant wait for production to start again because no other vegan shake cuts it.

@HelenRSalisbury @AliJaneMoore Or just let them do what they like and persistently misdiagnose as they did with my skin cancer that I was repeatedly told was a virus. Thank God I am a nurse and know more than them and went privately to get treated.

@Dr_JSA Physician assistants.and artificial intelligence are the same thing; they just go through a computerised algorithm. The one I saw had never heard of malaena, didn't know what I a type 6 stool was and argued with me when I said blood in stools can be black. Only bright red she say

This is why, in the long run, you can't completely replace doctors with physician associates, advanced practitioners or artificial intelligence. Doctors value is when patients don't fit a common protocol. If people want to dilute that on the basis of cost pressures… Good luck.

There's no way of me writing this, without it being taken the wrong way by someone - but I'll tweet it anyway... If you think 50% of your medical school teaching was useless - you haven't seen enough patients, and you haven't seen enough zebras...
Misha Voikhansky@MVoikhansky

My medical degree took 5 years to complete. I'm very confident that at least 50% of it was useless and forgotten by everyone within a week. I learnt the vast majority of my skills as a junior doctor in Stoke. Apprenticeship med training is a great idea and 4 years is long enough

@AliJaneMoore It is another initiative to reduce the massive agency spend on nursing staff. There is a far simpler and fairer solution; pay nurses a decent wage for the qualification, experience and student t debt they are carrying and pay them the grade they are working when doing bank.

Alison Moore @alijanemoore also on Bluesky
This is a big deal. Given you are employed by a trust, not the NHS overall, is it possible or legal to stop you doing an agency shift at another trust?

4. Why does the scientific community think our immune system is so depleted due to, among other measures, prolific mask wearing if it has no effect? Whatever the answers I will continue to wear FFP 2 on public transport. If nothing else, they keep me warm and block out smells.

2. Did staff outbreaks commonly occur in those who socialised together without masks? 3. Why did I get covid in early 2020, when there was no mask wearing, and late 2022 when I dropped my guard, but not in between when I was in the thick of it but mask wearing?

Some questions for the scientific medical community please. The Cochrane review has slammed mask wearing inc FFP2 but why 1. In my hospital did nobody in crit care get covid but on medical wards many did with a few staff deaths?

@jane_f_r @DrBenLovell Amazing reconstruction surgery by an amazing surgeon so all good now thanks. I have no problems with GPs not knowing everything as normally they would refer on. But I think self referral is already taking place either through private health if affordable, or through ED if not.

@Flixyburrell @DrBenLovell Really sorry to hear this- to be fair as GPs we get very little training in mouth problems and rely heavily on dentists here, but obviously it is very difficult to access dentists at the moment. I hope you’ve made a good recovery.

So which specialty should someone refer themselves to if they have - breathlessness/fatigue? - a painful swollen knee? - abdominal bloating/decreased appetite? - eye pain/vision changes? Not straightforward 🤷‍♂️ Not fair to make pts make a best guess then end up in wrong clinic.

@StuartW1976 @DrBenLovell All ok now, thank you. Secondary care already overloaded and acting as the gatekeeper as GP f2f appointments still not matching need. I was lucky enough to afford private care but others use ED.

@Flixyburrell @DrBenLovell That’s not good - hope you’re OK now. I think the concern is around Streeting implementing this en masse. As others have said, straight off the bat there are major issues with it if holistic. Current GP system can & does work, but needs resourcing. Otherwise 2ary gets overloaded.

@PetronellaWyatt I think it is very sad all round. It used to be so interesting to hear about people's cultural backgrounds. I am half maltese and have always been questioned about my olive skin. I was proud to talk about Malta. I loved being called exotic. I thought people were just interested.

Poor Susan Hussey is 83 and this must be the first time she has ever offended anyone. She is very kind and considerate and I feel sorry for her. Her main sin appears to be friendly curiosity. I have often asked people where their families have originally come from.

@DoctorOstomy My husband waited 15 hours even though we did ring to check. When the GP did call, we were boarding a ferry. Not very convenient or conducive but we were too scared to let it pass.

@trishgreenhalgh I actually think it needs reporting and most that I have read has been quite balanced. The mother, I understand has gone public with some grotesque comments which need a responsible counterbalance as the potentential harm to others is immense. My heart is with all involved.
