Seth MacFarlane, creator of Family Guy, had been booked on American Airlines Flight 11 on the morning of September 11, 2001, a routine transcontinental service from Boston to Los Angeles. The night before, he had been at his alma mater, Rhode Island School of Design, giving a lecture. After the event he went out for drinks with friends, woke up the next morning with a hangover, and arrived at the airport just 15 minutes too late to board. At the gate he was told "I'm sorry, they just closed the gate. You're too late." He made his way to the airport lounge, booked the next available flight, and fell asleep. He woke up roughly 40 minutes later to learn that Flight 11 had crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center. All 92 people on board were kil*ed

St. Cyril’s anathema was clear: if anyone does not confess that Emmanuel is truly God, and that the Holy Virgin is therefore Theotokos, “let him be anathema.” The Catechism teaches the same: Mary is truly “Mother of God” because the one she conceived by the Holy Spirit was truly the eternal Son of the Father made man. So here is the undeniable truth: If Jesus is God, and Mary is His mother according to the flesh, then the ancient Church rightly calls her Mother of God. May belongs to Mary because Mary always leads us to Christ. This was already debated and settled by the councils and the early Church. Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.
