On the first goal, Benjamin Asare clearly falls into the press trap. One second you look up and Naasei looks free, the moment you look down and pass he’s surrounded. Even if that pass went to Naasei, he would have be suffocated with three Mexican players. The body position of the Mexican winger looks like he’s going wide to press Gyamerah but look at how quickly he re-orients himself and closes down the central space. At the World Cup, Ghana will face more suffocating and relentless pressing and it’s important not to fall for prey especially in these type of zones.
