This isn't smug or anything, but I really hope that our current success demonstrates something to fans. March 1st 2025, we lost 4-3 at Barnsley. We were poor, but the flood of 'Skubala Out' messages around then was unbelievable. I even turned commenting off because I defended the team, Skubala and got all sorts of abuse. One year on, and we're on the brink of arguably the most impressive automatic League One promotion in modern times. Everyone is happy and Michael Skubala is close to adding his name to that of Taylor, Alexander, Cowley, Murphy and Anderson. No journey is linear, but sometimes, supporting your club is about seeing the small wins, and accepting the minor setbacks without a full-blown implosion. Remember that next time we lose a couple of games. #SkubalaIN

@Fly9Ricky @vinceandpen @AKA_DanThompson Fair point on Lasse & Tayo but the other 2 didn’t command a large fee! Look we are on very differing pages and clearly aren’t going to agree on all points but ultimately we all want the club to succeed!

Not only on the pitch but the amount of stick Jez George and Liam Scully have taken over the years as well mustn't be forgotten. Hopefully when the promotion is confirmed, their doubters will realise that maybe they do know what they're doing.

We have let Poole leave for nothing, POC leave for nothing and maybe ‘assets’ have been sold for nominal fees the model didn’t yield what anyone wanted and the losses prove that! Many have come and gone for nowt

@impsteaderz @vinceandpen @AKA_DanThompson Not all of them are going to work out, but more than enough have and kept the club supplied with a top of the table side with a 17th place budget, and made us millions.

@Fly9Ricky @vinceandpen @AKA_DanThompson No doubting Moylan will go for more than Makama as will Ivan but for every Moylan there has been an Elbouzaui (or however you spell it) the recent best signings are not sellable assets bar Ivan.

@AndyPearson68 @AKA_DanThompson Didn’t change that much though. January people hammering Makama from the stands. People calling for Jez out around March, few months later Makama is our record ever sale with sell ons to come. Moylan has been our star and came through diligent recruitment.

And hammering Makama who 4 months later was worth £1m. I got blocked by several people for backing the club

@JackMulhall92 @Staceywestblog It’s a good debate and one we were having last night, I don’t think an outsider looking in would have been massively surprised if we sacked Skubala after last winter period. Would we have blamed the club, if they had? It looked ominous

@Staceywestblog @GabSutton I greatly enjoyed going back through all those comments on the official account asking for his sacking. Just find it a bit pathetic to be honest doing that. And if I being completely honest I don’t believe you should be able to enjoy what is happening now. GG got verbally abused

What about if you’re a refugee and you didn’t grow up with your dad? This idea that you should support ya local doesn’t work if you come from an unstable home, move around a lot, and your family can’t afford to take you to a football game. The game is bigger than this sorry Dan
