Almost mid day on a Sunday and there’s almost a 7k player difference. Reminder that Marathon is a mostly PC game while Destiny 2 has a massive console base. Bungie/ Sony made a huge mistake.

@casualblu3 bubble shields were the best piece of equipment in halo 3 and they didn’t even have health, they were timed. seeing people ask for them to be removed or become even more rare than they have already just because they cant be patient in a slower paced game is honestly so sad to see

I'm not sure what Bungie should do, but the bubble/slick mag/Mizzy meta isn't very fun in Cryo. People are blaming the guns, because that's what kills them, but I don't think that's the issue.
The real problem is still bubble availability (and also Recon wallhack uptime with energy amps and running two Recons in a squad...).
Bubbles completely go against Bungie's stated design for the game: "One of our core philosophies for Marathon is that rapid repositioning and aggression must always have a meaningful cost." Bubbles just nullify that cost because they act as a "get out of bad positioning free" card.
Right now, Cryo feels like:
✅ Pop wallhacks
✅ Slide-rush with a shotgun
✅ Pop a bubble because you’re out of position
🔄 Repeat until everyone's dead.
I'm not sure what the fix is, but the best metas are varied metas.
Maybe make EMPs a hard bubble counter? Maybe if you throw a bubble onto another bubble, it breaks the first one? IDK, but I still think bubbles are the root of all evil.

@justinborough3 @Ropeium @casualblu3 Explain? To me I have never run cryo and said that bubble was BS. It’s a bubble shield, it is literally doing what it’s supposed to do. People just don’t like the fact that if someone is out of position it’s not free and they may have to push instead of everything being free

@casualblu3 Bubbles are Bungie and I have fond memories from Halo. They are strong because they’re supposed be. Weaken them so they take less to take down I feel that is all that could be done or allow the circuit breaker to pierce it as it did previously but I think that was a mistake?

Decisions went for/against hearts & Celtic throughout the season.
However in the last 4 games involving hearts or Celtic, every single contentious decision went in favour of Celtic. Days after Celtic officials meeting with the head of referees.

The reality is that now, more than ever, people should want Marathon to win. If it can thrive, it can expand in interesting ways, it can give Bungie runway and leeway with Sony for future projects. It's all upside if you want more Bungie games or even more Destiny. Marathon dying from here doesn't help anyone. Though that does not mean I'm going to just cheerlead if things don't turn around
