We are having a maintenance day and litter pick in Morris wood. Will be doing cutting back, general woodland maintenance and litter-picking. The event is 11:00 - 13:00 on Saturday 18th of September Meeting at the Steps off Spen Lane Hope to see you there!

Friends of Morris wood are having a volunteer day on Saturday 3rd July 11am to 1pm. Meeting at the Woodbridge Gardens entrance to the woods. We will be restoring paths, cutting back and litter picking. Hope to see you there!

So this poor hedgehog was found with its litter and had used a plastic bag for the nest. The babies became entangled and luckily now rescued by @WhitbyWildlife Another example of how plastic litter is so dangerous to wildlife and the planet 😢 @cleanupbritain @ChrisGPackham

Tree planting has rarely featured in Prime Ministerial speeches and the attention is welcome, but our ancient woodland heritage is irreplaceable. There are already 1000 cases of threatened ancient woods @WoodlandTrust is aware of. Planning reform must not lead to an increase.
