This is an invoice from a gospel music minister. The following are its stipulations before the said minister can be invited: Flights will be booked for both the outbound and return journeys. The artist will fly First Class (compulsory). The team will fly Economy. Hotel reservations will be covered by the church: a. 1 Executive Suite for the minister b. 3 Executive rooms for the 6 males c. 1 Executive room for the 2 males Honorarium: ₦5,000,000. MODE OF PAYMENT: a. A non-refundable 50% deposit must be made before the event can be scheduled. b. The remaining 50% must be paid 2 days before the event (compulsory). This invoice is years old, so it has most likely been revised upward. This has become an accepted practice across many churches in the Nigerian church ecosystem today, especially among gospel music ministers. Their ministrations, gifts, and talents are now placed behind a paywall. No money, no ministration. This raises several important questions about the current state of affairs. What exactly is the minister charging for? Everything that makes a ministration and ministry effective comes from God. Firstly, the ministry itself is from God. Paul said that it was Jesus who gave the ministries for the edification of the Church: “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers.” (Ephesians 4:11) Paul also said that it is God who makes us competent to minister the New Covenant: “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God.” (2 Corinthians 3:5) He further stated that it is God who causes His light to shine in the hearts of the unsaved: “For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts…” (2 Corinthians 4:6) And again, Paul made it clear that it is God who gives the increase, while the minister is nothing: “So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.” (1 Corinthians 3:7) The question remains: what are we charging for? It is God who gives the ministry. It is God who makes ministers competent. It is God who causes light to shine in dark hearts. It is God who brings increase and edification. If a minister charges money to minister, it suggests that they have control over the outcome of the ministration. But Scripture says otherwise. So again, what are we charging for? What do we truly have to offer that justifies a price? Paul also said that it is God who counts ministers worthy and appoints them: “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry.” (1 Timothy 1:12) We highlight these things to show that God is not pleased with what is happening within the Church in this nation. This practice has become widespread. Ministers have taken what belongs to God and turned it into personal ambition. They now believe they must be material beneficiaries simply because they are close to the altar. Like Hophni and Phinehas, they are fattening themselves on the offerings of God’s people. God is not pleased. These money-mongers are ministers of Christ. They do not represent Jesus. They have become celebrities, following the way of Cain. Their consciences have been seared, and they no longer hold to the mystery of the faith with sincerity and a pure conscience. God has rejected the service of such people. This example is only a modest invoice. There are others that are far more excessive, more troubling, and more driven by greed. But the message has been passed. More will be said. Until then, remain blessed. Keep your garments white and your hands pure. Amen.

@SpiricocoNg So you church people claim that the gospel needs money to push it but fine at musicians for charging money. Wow 😂 Proverbs 18:16 “A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men” The Nigerian church is ran by self serving men.

If Atiku decides to step down for another candidate ahead of 2027, a nationwide protest will inevitably follow. Nigerians will not settle for missing another chance to experience good governance and true democracy.

@jrnaib2 There's always time for everything. I'll rather not vote at all than vote for Atiku at this time. If he supports PO now and then annoints a credible candidate to continue whatever good work PO starts then we can start talking about a deal. Atiku/PO is the weakest

President Tinubu clearly understands how to borrow for development and how to manage debt effectively. I’ve rarely seen a Nigerian leader so meticulous in the use of loans like him. Maybe because of his background in accounting.

Yes, subsidy was removed and the reason as well all know was because Nigeria was spending HUGE money just to keep petrol cheap, money that could build roads, schools, and hospitals and do many other great stuff.

I’ve seen a lot of people sugarcoating Wale Edun’s removal. He wasn’t removed due to illness or any related issue. He was removed for underperformance, and when he was summoned by the president, they reportedly had a heated argument, and that was the end.

@Row_Haastrup The problem is when you try to turn men to God whilst forgetting any man or prophet can err. We don't rejoice in their shortcomings or interfere with their contract with God but people like you forget out of the mouth of men, truth will be established.

I am horridly embarrassed at these statements. To me, this looks and sounds personal. With all due respect to Rev. Isaac Omolehin, this framing is not only unfair, but it is not there historically and spiritually. To suggest that Christianity in Nigeria has “no fathers” because there is no single figure overseeing everyone ignores both the nature of the Church and the reality of its growth. First, Christianity has never been structured around one earthly “father” over an entire nation or a territory. That model leans more toward hierarchy than the body ministry described in Scripture “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:” — Ephesians 4:11-13 The Church is not a monarchy — it is a body, with different leaders raised for different assignments. Expecting one man to “look after us all” is not only unrealistic, it risks elevating personality over Christ. 2ndly, reducing the ministries of people like Enoch Adeboye and David Oyedepo to “denominational competition” is a misrepresentation. These men have, for decades, invested heavily in souls, education, healthcare, missions, and national transformation. Entire universities, hospitals, and global outreach platforms have been built — not for rivalry, but for impact. If growth and expansion are now being interpreted as “competition,” then we are judging outcomes without understanding intent. Infact the way he was being specific showed some traces of bitterness and/or envy which makes it look personal. I may be wrong but this is the way I see it. 3rdly, the idea that influence equals silence is also flawed. Spiritual leadership is not always loud or political. Many of these leaders engage issues through counsel, intercession, and strategic influence rather than public commentary. Not every father shouts; some build, some guide, some pray. Lastly, if the concern is unity in the Nigerian Church, then the solution is not to tear down existing leaders but to encourage collaboration across denominations. Unity is not the absence of diversity — it is alignment in purpose despite it. It’s okay to call for more visible unity. It’s even okay to challenge leaders. But dismissing decades of spiritual labour and impact with a broad stroke like “there are no fathers” doesn’t strengthen the Church — it just undermines it. If anything, Nigeria has many fathers, just not in the narrow definition being suggested.
𝐀𝐬𝐚𝐤𝐲𝐆𝐑𝐍@AsakyGRN

“Christianity in Nigeria has no fathers. One young man was speaking intensely, saying Enoch Adeboye and David Oyedepo should speak out, and I asked myself, are these the fathers of Christianity in Nigeria? These are denominational leaders. Christianity in Nigeria has no father. A father would be someone who looks after us all, not just promoting denominational agendas and competing over who is building a one-mile auditorium while another tries to build two miles. One has one aircraft, another wants three. The competition has no spiritual content.” — Rev. Isaac Omolehin. 👏🏽
