brc-20 Swap Module on Bitcoin Mainnet Update TL;DR: - Users with remaining balances in the brc-20 Swap module on Bitcoin mainnet will be able to withdraw them - Withdrawals will be enabled through two technical steps coordinated with other indexers, expected to open before block 934,888. No action needed now - This does not affect InSwap on Fractal— no action required for InSwap users Background Due to how the brc-20 protocol inherently works on Bitcoin, modules can only function fully when all indexers enforce the upgrade. Since the brc-20 Swap module hasn't achieved unanimous indexer support despite our best efforts to push for it, we must regrettably inactivate it. User balances previously trapped in the module will become withdrawable. We've finally been able to reach an agreement with other indexers to support us on the withdrawal process, which requires 2 critical steps: 1️⃣ brc-20 Swap Module Balance Activation - Block: 932,888 (estimated Jan 19, 03:30 UTC) - The Swap Module balance will turn white, enabling withdrawals 2️⃣ UniSat Indexing & API Upgrade - This inactivation and the future brc2.0 phase 2 requires an ecosystem-wide indexer upgrade - We've been coordinating with other indexers and API clients to ensure alignment - Details: x.com/unisat_wallet/… - Projected completion: Week 3 of January (we'll update if timing changes) ‼️ Withdrawal Process After completing the above steps, users can manually withdraw if they: • Have assets in the brc-20 Swap module on Bitcoin mainnet • Bridged assets from the brc-20 Swap module on Bitcoin mainnet to InSwap on Fractal via Green Channel The withdrawal should be open before the scheduled brc2.0 upgrade at block 934,888. Further details on the refund process will be announced separately. 📌 The inactivation of the brc-20 Swap module on Bitcoin mainnet does not affect InSwap. InSwap, as the implementation of the brc-20 swap module on Fractal Bitcoin, remains fully operational.
