Update on mainnet launch Together with LayerZero Labs, we’re verifying that all tokens listed on Beyond using OFTs across the initial batch of integrated chains follow best practices, including any direct or indirect dependencies. This is an exhaustive process designed to prioritize user security above all else. As a result, mainnet will likely be delayed by ~1 month. LayerZero remains one of the most secure and reliable interoperability partners, securing hundreds of billions in tokens and volume. That said, we hold ourselves to the same standard; therefore we’re double-checking everything that could impact Beyond. Security first 🔒

Bitcoin is the most decentralized and secure ledger, that doesn’t mean there aren’t things that can be changed through sufficient consensus, such as removing dormant coins with exposed public key from the network. Arbitrum did great, and we as an industry should stop the crossfud just to justify promoting ‘our thing’, especially when it comes to great hard-working teams. We all can do better.

The Arbitrum Security Council has taken emergency action to freeze the 30,766 ETH being held in the address on Arbitrum One that is connected to the KelpDAO exploit. The Security Council acted with input from law enforcement as to the exploiter’s identity, and, at all times, weighed its commitment to the security and integrity of the Arbitrum community without impacting any Arbitrum users or applications. After significant technical diligence and deliberation, the Security Council identified and executed a technical approach to move funds to safety without affecting any other chain state or Arbitrum users. As of April 20 11:26pm ET the funds have been successfully transferred to an intermediary frozen wallet. They are no longer accessible to the address that originally held the funds, and can only be moved by further action by Arbitrum governance, which will be coordinated with relevant parties.

Unpopular opinion: Crypto will outperform AI from here. AI is the consensus trade by now. Almost every single dollar today flows into it at peak hype and absurd valuations. At the same time, crypto is being priced like it's going extinct, while its fundamentals look stronger than they ever have. 6 years after DeFi Summer, we’re still seeing these massive hacks. Resolv, Venus Core, and now Drift. For a moment, I thought the Solana VM might be superior on security, with fewer hacks. Alas. I wonder if low-risk DeFi is a thing. Aave pls hold ground. All of crypto seems high risk.
