@Forest_Reviews .. on servers! The true problem here is the nature of the skewed digital rights situation with companies having all the control and consumers having almost no rights to access their purchases. The whole Physical Disc situation is not isolated from the Digital Rights situation!

@Forest_Reviews Please don't let this worry you, Forest. The *real* problem is that people can't buy physical PS1 & PS2 games that are rare and extortionately priced (as you yourself pointed out). In this situation it is imperative that PlayStation make digital versions available and keep them..

I admit I made a video about picking up classic PS1/PS2 games in the PSN store before it closes next year but hear me out and look at pictures below for context. The classic games especially PS1 games are getting expensive and I only suggested it as the cheapest route to get them

@JoshFairhurst They’re changing the production here too, sadly.

Interestingly, to the best of my knowledge, Brazil is the only place besides Austria where physical PlayStation discs are pressed and the facility there is privately owned (Sony DADC Brazil was sold to Solutions2Go a few years ago). Maybe this legislation could force Sony to keep physical production lines open for new games in Brazil, potentially providing a route for physical PS5 games to continue past January 2028?

@MiamiSunryze @Nomad9223 @PlayStation It's less about the money and more about visibility. Many devs (esp smaller studios) have stated in interviews that to them having a physical release is not only a matter of pride, but gives them visible presence at retail and wider visibility. This is what they value.

Physical media is an option for developers and publishers to help sell their game. The idea that @PlayStation would eliminate that across an entire worldwide platform is disastrous and disrespectful to studios who make games and want to diversify their products. Stop this!

@PcollectorPs I think waiting for the remastered version is the way to go. There'll be QoL features 😎 and it'll look better. It's a lovely game (despite the unusual combat).

@Food4Dogs Wow the European Tales of Berseria CE was so much better than the US version.

@ZevZero There are at least two! 😀 Mine is the Alter and I got it in 2020. There's also one by Kotobukiya which also looks good. Both are on eBay.
