From @IanByrneMP The Right To Food UK Commission, announced in September 2025, will interrogate and report on the scale and scope of food poverty and hunger in the UK today. The Commission will be based out of the UK Parliament and take evidence from around the UK. It has been established jointly by the Right To Food Campaign, which is led in Parliament by Ian Byrne MP for Liverpool West Derby, the University of Westminster, the Bakers, Food and Allied Workers Union (BFAWU) and the Food and Work Network.

These shocking figures lay out clearly the link between in-work poverty and food insecurity We need a #righttofood but an end to the systemic reasons why people are feeling insecure about food in the first place
Prem Sikka@premnsikka

16m Britons (24% of the population) live in poverty. 10m live in families in full-time work. 5.2m children live in poverty (36%). Austerity, low wages, benefits, pension take toll. Destroy lives. 1% have more wealth than 70% of the population combined. theguardian.com/society/2024/n…
